The year is now coming to an end. In November and December we will finish some projects we have worked on for a long time. This is mainly due to the fact that our major contributors have changed their routines and that they will only pay a total operating contribution instead of project funding. A government decision has also made Noaks Ark Syd to seek funds from the Public Health Authority instead of Region Skåne. How exactly this will fall out is impossible to know at the present time. The Tuesday group has had fewer visitors in recent years. We have therefore discussed various options that we will get back to you with. As already noted, the project that funded the Tuesday group has ended, so after October, the Tuesday group meetings are now over. World Day of the Day on December 1, we will cooperate with the Swedish Church. Everyone is welcome regardless of faith or lack of faith. This is a day when we remember all those who we lost prematurely because of HIV. It is also a day of reflection about today's situation in Sweden and the world. Memorial Day begins at 19:00 in St. Petri Church in Malmö. December 15th at 1 p.m. we invite you to our annual Christmas lunch at Noaks Ark Syd. Everybody is welcome. Noaks Ark Syd is open as usual 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Welcome for some coffee/tea and cake

At 6 p.m. it’s mingle time at Kraftstationen which is being hosted by the Swedish Church S:t Petri and soup is on the table. Kraftstationen is located at Själbodgatan 4a,

which is 1 minute from the busstop Djäknegatan.

At 7 p.m. it’s a sermon at S:t Petri Church across the street from Kraftstationen. Lightening of candles is welcome and voluntary and is done before the sermon.



Thursday meetings in Helsingborg

The meetings are being held at Billeplatsen 1 in Helsingborg every non-holiday Thursday at daytime.

Wan Khao Phansa is observed over a period of three months during the rainy season when

monks are required to remain in one particular place or temple. This tradition originates from

old times when Buddha stayed in temples during the rainy season to avoid killing insects or

harming the growing seeds. It is a period for study, meditation and teaching of new monks. The

monks are allowed to go out during the day but they must sleep in the same temple

every night during these three months.

Mostly the activities on Wan Khao Phansa (Rains Retreat Entry Day) are the same as those on

any other Buddhist holy days. Two main important things are presented to monks during Khao

Phansa - candles and the garments worn by monks, specifically the bathing robes.

pray and meditate.

The visitors donate money, clothes and gifts to

the monks and the temple.

The purpose of the project: it's about love, is to work

against honor-related oppression and violence.

We meet children and young people daily who cannot

experience or choose their love.

In schools, we therefore create

conversations about the right to their body,

the right to fall in love with who we want

and the right to decide over their lives.

Working on the basis of the Children's

Convention, we are based on what is

common to all, instead of looking for

reasons that may be the basis for oppression.

This is an outward, creative and social

influential work for children's rights and the

right of young people to a free love.

It's about love, has its own site where

students can read more about their rights and

where to turn for advice and support.

Next year 2018, Noaks Ark Syd will start the social meetings again but with a little twist, we will

change the name to AFTER WORK at the Ark. As we are in the planning stage with our

upcoming activities for next year, we will get back to you with what day it will be

but we are are considering meeting the same day every week or maybe changing day every

week to be more available so more people will be able to find a suitable day to join us.

At these meetings there will be some coffee/tea with some yummy pastries or something more

At Noaks Ark Syd we offer free and anonymous Rapid HIV testing.

In order for you to get a 100% result, it must have been 4 weeks since you

think you may have been exposed to a risk.

The test is taken in your finger and you get the results after 15 minutes.

You get the chance to ask questions in connection with the test.

Drop-in session is every non-holiday Wednesday between 5 p.m - 7 p.m.

Coffee/tea on us while you wait for your turn.

If you can’t make it to our drop-in hours you are welcome to book an

appointment by calling the reception at 040-611 52 15 or at

Membership in Noaks Ark Syd

As a member, you support our organization and you have voting rights on our annual meetings

and you will be able to take part of our activities. To become a member, please send us an

email to [email protected]. The membership fee which is 20 SEK per person and year is

paid to the following Bankgiro 5532-2911. Please enter your name, email address and

"membership fee" at the message section. No OCR number needed.

It’s also possible to pay cash in the reception at Noaks Ark Syd.

We want to point out that from now on our telephone hours are the same as our opening

hours. Wednesdays are still not open for visitors unless you book an appointment

but you are always welcome to call.
