In his previous bestseller, George Soros presented a theoretical framework for an
understanding of the financial crisis, which had just begun to show effects. He
recognised at a very early stage that the crisis would be more serious than many were
willing to admit.
In his new book, Soros has put together all the shocking facts that fill the columns
of our newspapers, analysing each individual case in-depth. Soros is well-known
for his astute prognoses, and here again, he dares to risk a glimpse into the future.
He gives the reader no-holds-barred insight into the effects of the crisis by taking
a closer look at the future development of the dollar, the threshold countries India
and China and the increasing rivalry between the eu and russia.
The Analysis of the Financial Crisis
George Soros
George Soros was born in Budapest in 1930. The child of Jewish parents, he survived the deportations of the Second War with the help of forged papers and a set of lucky circumstances. In 1946, he went to London, where he studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 1969, he took over the management of a hedge fund. One year later, in 1970, Gero-ge Soros founded the hedge fund Quantum Fund together with James 'Jim' Rogers. The fund formed the basis for Soros' subsequent regulatory inter-vention in the global economic system.

'Is my money safe?' - all investors can do at present is stare at their accounts and depots like
rabbits caught in the headlights. Every minor drop in prices triggers a new wave of panic.
And not without cause. It may be that your money will retain its full value. Maybe. But what is
much more likely is that the purchasing power of that money will dwindle.
Why? Because almost every state in the world has gone on a debt-making spree. Billions,
even trillions have been spent on cushioning economies from the effects of the financial cri-
sis. In the long term, there is only one way to avert the impending collapse of economies
in the industrial nations: and that is slow devaluation of their currencies.
Stefan Riße, a respected authority on the stock market and a professional investor, is certain:
Inflation ahead! In this book, Riße presents all the arguments which deliver the convincing
proof of this frightening prognosis which we will all have to come to terms with sooner or
later and offers investors on all scales concrete tips on how they can save their savings.
Inflation Ahead!Stefan Riße
Stefan Riße, born in 1968, has worked as a financial journalist for over 10 years. He has worked for magazines such as Focus, Forbes and Wirtschafts-woche and wrote a regular column for the investment magazine Die Telebör-se. Above all, Stefan Riße will be familiar to many for his daily live report from the floor of the Frankfurt stock exchange for n-tv. A close friend of stock exchange expert André Kostolany, Riße wrote several books with him and is also a successful author in his own right. Today, Riße works as chief strategist for CMC Markets.

»In the wake of the financial crisis, there is growing concern in
Europe that entire nations could become insolvent. Experts
name Iceland, Italy, Spain, Greece and Ireland, the Baltic states,
Romania and Bulgaria as examples.«
Günter Hannich, born in 1968, has studied our financial and economic system for over 16 years. 12 years ago, Günter Hannich was already war-ning of the dangers of deflation with an ensuing economic crisis. The aut-hor has published his arguments against the euro in numerous magazines and proved many established experts wrong.
The birth of the euro 10 years ago was greeted with euphoria, and in the
year 2002, it was finally introduced – in the face of surveys indicating that
90 per cent of the population were in fact against the new currency.
And it seems that the euro really is not an unqualified success story. The
new European currency has quickly become the dynamite that is threate-
ning to blow Europe apart. Ever since the abolition of the adjusted natio-nal currencies, tensions have been slowly building in Europe – tensions
which are likely to cause the euro to fail in the end and plunge us into uni-
maginable financial catastrophe. In this book, Günter Hannich presents
the hard facts and shows the reader why this development is inevita-ble.

Prof. Dr. Rudi Zagst studied economic mathematics at the University of Ulm. After graduating in Ulm in the year 2000, Prof. Zagst became Professor of financial mathematics at the Technical University in Munich and was appointed head of the HBV Stiftungsinstitut for financial maths there in 2002. In 2003, Prof. Zagst was appointed honorary chairman of the board of risklab germany GmbH.
Johann Goldbrunner studied business administration at the LMU and went on to become a stock analyst and then chief analyst with a large German bank. He later became head of Asset Management and CEO of Asset Management with this institution. In the year 2000, he moved to one of the leading global asset management companies as head of the German division and CEO Europe. In 2005, he became an inde-pendent business consultant and chairman of the board of risklab GmbH.
Andreas Schlosser qualified in business informatics at the Berufsakademie in Stuttgart. He then went on to study 'Finance and Information Management' at the Technical University in Munich and 'Finance' at the University of Augsburg. Since completing his studies, he has worked as a consultant in the field of financial risk management with an international auditing company.
Not only the experts are shaken by current events on the financial markets.
On an almost daily basis, we are confronted with media reports of new losses running into billions. And even if there are many factors which
contributed to the crisis, it is an uncontested fact that inadequate risk
management is one of the triggers. Despite the fact that every financial insti-
tute deals with risk as part of its day-to-day business, there have repeatedly
been spectacular incidents, even crashes on a global scale. Just remem-
ber, for example, the insolvency of the British Baring Bank or the collapse of
the hedge fund LTCM.
This book, as exciting as a crime thriller, offers a detailed description of
the internal mechanisms of our financial markets. Case studies provide in-
depth insight into the world of risk management for interested laymen.
This highly interesting read bridges the gap between the wide range of
theoretical literature on the subject and the day-to-day realities of risk manage-
ment – and teaches those involved in the latter a lesson for the future.

Why didn't the price of the 'safe haven' gold rise in the financial crisis
of 2008? Why did it lag behind the other precious metals even before
that? Could it be that someone has an interest in keeping the gold price
low? And if so, who? Dimitri Speck proves that the central banks have
intervened since 5th August 1993 to prevent the gold price rising too
far. Their motives range from a desire to stabilise financial markets and fight inflation to keeping yields low on the bond market. The
central banks aim to keep the rival to their currencies, gold, which is a
debt-free store of value that cannot be eroded by inflation, weak. But
their measures have side-effects: intervention in the gold price is one of
the factors contributing to the bubble which leads to crisis on the financial markets ...
The Secret Gold Policy
Dimitri Speck
Dimitri Speck is a specialist in the identification of patterns in charts and the development of trading systems for investment banks. In 2001, he discove-red an anomaly in the gold price which allowed him to prove that there had been intervention in the gold market and to pinpoint the date on which that intervention began. Speck created the Stay-CCommodity Index published by the German stock market and is the editor of the website SeasonalCharts.

For many years, Ásgeir Jónsson has been chief economist of Iceland's Kaupthing Bank. He is also the author of numerous books and articles on Icleand's economy and history.
So far, Iceland has been the most prominent victim of the global econo-
mic crisis. More than any other European country, this island and its 300,000
inhabitants have been swept into the maelstrom. Within the space of just
one week, almost the entire banking sector in Iceland collapsed.
But is Iceland really a victim of the financial crisis? Or did a targeted attack by international hedge funds bring the currency, the banking system
and the stock market of the island state to its knees? This is the accusation
levelled by Ásgeir Jónsson, chief economist at the Kaupthing Bank. In this
book, he proves that Iceland was in the fact the victim of an international
coup. He has put together a wealth of explosive and incontestable facts
to support his controversial theory, leaving the reader in no doubt: Iceland
was the loser and the large hedge funds the winners.

In the age of hedge funds, private equity and complex financial instruments,
the classic form of Value Investing is experiencing a comeback. More
and more investors are relying on the simple and clear principles of value-oriented investment because they have lost confidence in the bewilde-
ringly complex products and promises of the financial sector.
In this book, the authors present a detailed overview of the theory and
practice of Value Investing. Value-oriented investors buy into sound compa-
nies at a favourable price in the expectation of appropriate long-term yields. In the first part of the book, value investing expert Max otte
explains how Value Investing works. He leads the reader step by step and
systematically through the investment process and offers numerous tips
on what to look out for when selecting an appropriate investment object.

Benjamin Graham, the father of Value Investing, is still one of the most
respected thinkers in the financial world, and his works are classics of finan-
cial literature. He was a pioneer on Wall Street, and his work and his life
inspired many successful investors, including Warren Buffett, John Neff and Michael F. Price.
Author Rodney G. Klein is a Wall Street historian and was himself taught
by Benjamin Graham. His work 'Investing Like Benjamin Graham' offers a
selection of the early articles by this financial genius. These articles,
written in the era of major change between the First World War and the
Great Depression, are astonishingly relevant today and can be transfer-
red to today's rapidly changing markets. To put it in a nutshell: an extre-

Company pension schemes – a new market! They are set to
increase in significance in coming years and be an attractive opti-
on within the framework of the overall pension provisions for
employees. Employers and workers' representatives face the task
of selecting the best concept from a wide range of different
possibilities, a concept which will meet the requirements of
both employees and employer.
This book uses concrete examples to point out the advan-
tages and disadvantages of the individual schemes and to
answer frequently asked questions such as: What are precondi-
tions for acquiring state subsidies for pension schemes? What
are the risks and costs involved for the employee? What form is
best suited to the company and its workforce? What happens if
you move to a different company? The book is rounded off by
an examination of questions relating to tax, social insurance
and labour law and was written mainly with entrepreneurs in
mind.

The economy needs entrepreneurs whose innovations constantly provide it with fresh impetus. In this book, the FTD team has put together over 40 portraits of these 'creative destroyers' who challenge the market leaders and upturn entire markets.Readers learn how they overcame all barriers to make their innovations marketable. Economist Joseph Schumpeter calls this dynamic process 'creative de-struction.'The first portrait takes a look at the success story of Ralf Däinghaus, who revolutionised the pharmacy market with his online pharmacy DocMorris. Further personalities portrayed include Peter Kowalsky, whose product Bionade was at first laughed at by many, Gün-ter Fielmann, who became Europe's leading spectacle retailer within the space of only a few years, and the founders of Media-Markt.
• Multi-faceted portrayal of Germany's
recent economic history
• Detailed portraits of the 'creative destroyers
• Innovative ideas from development to market launch

fund management
For some years now, capital investors in the institutional sector
have been noticeably dissatisfied with the existing manage-
ment structure. There is no shortage of players, but no-one
who bears the overall responsibility. Fiduciary Manage-
ment provides an answer to this problem and is used incre-
asingly as a method for the management of large-scale
assets. It focuses on the combination of specialist compe-
tence and responsibility and ensures that those who are in
charge of teams of managers and consultants not only have
the requisite specialist competence but also remain in close
contact with the plan sponsors and pension institutions,
enabling them to invest their capital profitably.

➔ The book reveals the mental traps of trading
➔ A completely new analysis model for successful trading
Jochen Steffens | Torsten Ewert
Successful day trading requires the perfect combination of
mental fitness and reliable analysis methods. In this book,
authors Steffen and Ewert take a look at the mental skills a day
trader needs. The first section of the book reveals the mental
traps which can prevent you from achieving success on the
stock market. It paints a completely new picture of a living, bre-
athing stock exchange in which an intuitive form of day trading
is necessary for success. In the second section, the book intro-
duces the reader to the chart analysis method for day traders
and investors. This allows traders not only to set the upside tar-
get for securities, but also to determine when this target will be
reached. Suddenly, what at first sight appear to be merely cha-
otic lines on the chart reveal amazingly regular patterns with
which trading becomes almost child's play.
Torsten Ewert has been following events on the stock market for more than 15 years. He has also been a professional trader in his own right for several years. For three years now, he has been wor-king together with Jochen Steffens on various stock market publi-cation projects. Investors will know him as editor-in-chief of Ewer-ts-Strategie-Depot. He also writes a column titled Märkte am Mon-tag for www.stockstreet.de and is editor-in-chief of the Stockstreet-Investment-Strategie.
Jochen Steffens is a well-known business and stock exchange jour-nalist who has been working as an independent day trader spe-cialising in futures and intraday trading for more than 10 years. He became known to a broader public as editor-in-chief of some of the most successful stock market publications, including Investor's Daily, Target-Trader, Makro-Strategie and Steffens-Dai-ly. Since 2008, he has been CEO of the Stockstreet GmbH (www.stockstreet.de), which releases stock market publications.

key factors for consistent success with every short-term stra-
tegy in electronic intraday trading on the stock exchange and
uses these factors to develop two ready-for-action trading
plans – one for stock trading, one for futures trading.
The reader learns the importance of risk management and
money management and how to systematically plan trading
activities.
Every Trader Needs a Plan
Detlef Wormstall began to invest on the stock market in 1990. After ini-
tial losses, he focussed his attention on risk and money management.
After a 3-year stay in the USA, he set up the company Tradenet Consul-
ting in the year 2001 and publishes his articles and supplies information
for traders on its website. In stock market circles, Wormstall has a repu-
tation as the expert on trading strategies and is in great demand as a
public speaker and personal coach.
Day traders buy and sell stocks several times a day, taking advantage of the smallest fl uctuations on the market and minimal variations between prices on diff e-rent stock exchanges in order to make a profi t.

Working the markets without a safety net means that sooner

core statement of this book. And in the eyes of the author,
the best protection against exposure takes place in the mind
of the investor, and he uses a wealth of entertaining real-life
examples from the world of 'trading psychology' to demons-
trate this approach to the reader. The guide also explains in
an clear and easy-to-follow style how it is possible to boost

➔ By the author of 'Trading with Chart Formations'
and 'The Encyclopaedia of Chart Patterns'
Thomas N. Bulkowski
Candlesticks – an analysis method based on the psychology
of the markets – originated in the Japanese rice trade in the
18th century. One of the most famous traders at that time was
Munehisa Homma. He discovered that an analysis of the mood
on the market offered a very good method of predicting futu-
re developments. "The Encyclopaedia of Candlesticks“ by Tho-
mas Bulkowski is a unique book that presents a list of 103 Cand-
lestick formations in easy-to-follow combinations and with a
statistical evaluation of their performance on both bull and bear
markets. The information in this book enables the reader to reach
a better understanding of market activity and thus to trade more
successfully.
The Encyclopaedia of Candlesticks
Candlesticks originally come from Japan and are one of the so-called chart techniques. The name Candlesticks derives from the fact that price developments are depicted in candle-like shapes.

CFDs are increasingly popular with newcomers due to their sim-
plicity. CFDs allow investors to speculate on stock price move-
ments with a leverage of up to 100, a margin which is otherwise
only found in futures trading. A leverage of 100 means that the
investor 'bets' on a specific stock, for example a share. If the share
price rises by one point, the CFD rises 100-fold. CFDs give you
almost unlimited choice, because they can be concluded on
almost any asset on national and also on international markets.
In this book, the authors Jünemann and Imbacher explain how
to combine trading with CFDs with appropriate money manage-
ment, one of the most frequently neglected aspects of the invest-
ment process.
Bernhard Jünemann | Heinz Imbacher
Trade CFDs Successfully with the Right Money Management
Heinz Imbacher, born in 1959, was head of the Technical Analysis divi-sion at BÖRSE ONLINE and also worked as an editor. Besides technical analysis, the focus of his work has been on theoretical and practical money management for more than 10 years, and he has developed new money-management rules and formulae implemented in the prac-tical Money-Management-Tool, which is based on the spreadsheet calculation program Excel.
Dr. Bernhard Jünemann, born in 1950, was deputy editor-in-chief of of the investment magazine BÖRSE ONLINE, responsible, among other things, for TV coverage. For example, he presented the weekly BÖRSEN-TALK on BLOOMBERG TV. He has been studying the psychology of the stock markets since the mid 1990s.
CFDs (Contracts for Diff erence), like certifi cates and equit warrants, are derivatives. Such a contract for diff erence is concluded for an un-limited period of time, and the investor 'bets' on movements in the prices of shares, bonds, raw materials or currency rates. The buyer par-ticipates 1:1 in the price movement without actually buying the asset in question. CFDs are not traded on the stock exchange itself. Instead, a broker or bank acts as an agent and partner in the contract.

Trading Strategies for Rising MarketsThe more often you take a look behind the scenes at price
developments on the stock markets and analyse facts, state-
ments and pschological aspects, the easier it is to develop a
feeling for optimum timing and the best course of action.
The financial crisis has depleted the capital of many investors,
but the smoke now seems to be clearing on the international
stock markets and there is the first glimpse of better times to
come on the horizon. The Dax and the Dow Jones are slowly
but surely recovering. Thus, investors would be well advised to
put their money on rising prices. In the Long Strategy, investors
buy shares in order to profit from rising markets. In this book,
stock market strategist Harald Weygand shows the reader how
it is possible to profit from rising markets and how position
yourself for long term success.
Harald Weygand is Head of Trading at GodmadeTrader.de and a member of the board of the BörseGo AG. After graduating and writing his doctoral thesis in medicine, he decided to fol-low his passion for chart-technical analysis and market trading. He specialises in scalp and swing trading of US stocks via Direct Access and position trading of European (especially German) shares and indices.

The laws of crowd psychology follow the Fibonacci numbers.
This fundamental theory sums up the premise of the supporters
of Fibonacci techniques, in particular of the Elliott-Waves theo-
ry. And indeed, stock market price development curves often
reveal Fibonacci numbers and reactions. This is not only true of
trends and corrections (retracements) but also of the relation-
ship between trend and impulse movements themselves.
Fibonacci numbers also often provide an adequate instrument
for analysing the temporal dimension between high and low
points. In this book, Frank Thönnissen offers a concise and sim-
ple guide to the theoretical basics and illustrates them with easy-
to-follow real-life examples.

Frank Thönnißen, Co-Investment Advisor Dynamic Trading, STRADIVARI Advisors S.A. Luxem-burg, worked as a successful private trader for eight years before joining STRADIVARI in 2003. He occasionally trains and coaches institutional and independent traders and delivers lectures, one of his preferred topics being technical analysis with the help of Fibonacci numbers. Frank Thönnissen is a member of the Market Technicians Association Inc. USA and the VTAD-Verei-nigung Technischer Analysten Deutschlands e.V. In the year 2004, his training course Technical Analysis & Trading was published in FinanzBuch Verlag.

Elliott Waves Made Easy
Financial markets are not chaotic. They move in specific cycles
reflecting human action which in turn is prompted by emo-
tions or crowd psychology.
Elliott based his work partly on the Dow theory, which also
defines market movements as waves. However, Elliott disco-
vered the fractal nature of these movements and was thus able
to carry out more in-depth analysis of the markets and make
more detailed prognoses of developments by identifying the
specific characteristics of the wave patterns on the basis of the
patterns he had discovered.
In this easy-to-follow guide, André Tiedje introduces the rea-
der step by step to this quite complex subject matter and intro-
duces an alternative method for analysis of the financial mar-
kets.

Wer oder was verhindert Ihren Börsenerfolg? Letztlich sind Sie es, denn die Gründe liegen in der menschlichen Sehnsucht nach Harmonie, Sicher-heit und Kontrolle.
