Gothas et Berthas is abook published just after World War I that illustrates scenes of destruction in and around Paris. The book's title is a reference to the deadline weaponry of the German army. The" Big Bertha" was a 42cm howitzer, one of the German army’s most effective long-range artillery pieces. The Gothas were twin engine German bombers put into service over Paris in 1916, and able to carry 1100 pound bombs.
