DLGS expands with new Dow Lohnes Green Solutions practice
Washington, DC – Dow Lohnes Government Strategies, LLC (DLGS) President, Rick Kessler, announced the launch
of Dow Lohnes Green Solutions, a green-focused practice that combines Washington advocacy with business
consulting expertise for clients committed to environmental stewardship and economic success.
“Everyone wants to go green, but not everybody knows how to. We provide a plan to help clients reach their goals,”
said Jessica Lenard, one Principal of DL Green Solutions and a former top energy and environmental policy advisor to
Senate Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin. “We’re on the cusp of a low-carbon revolution and companies that
embrace it will have a distinct advantage in creating jobs and spurring economic growth.”
“Green business solutions are essential for future business success,” added Liz Burdock, a Principal at Green Solutions
who served as an Executive Director to a public-private White House climate program during the Clintonadministration. “Our strategy is more important today as government funding and regulation are increasingly tied to
reducing carbon output.”
Dow Lohnes Green Solutions professionals work with a broad range of clients on the national and state level– from
start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, public agencies, non-profits, associations and coalitions – to develop and
implement practices that will make them greener. DL Green Solutions also works with clients to advocate green
policies to benefit their business. DLGS launched Green Solutions to provide clients with a comprehensive focused
resource that combines Lenard’s Washington-based policy work and Burdock’s consulting expertise.
“Liz’s experience with sustainability initiatives complements our existing Washington-based policy focus and gives our
clients a competitive advantage in this emerging environment,” Lenard said.
Liz Burdock said she is “excited to work with Jessica as she understands that successful companies and investors shape
the policies that will impact them. She also stated Lenard is “well-respected both on Capitol Hill and within the
environmental NGO community, allowing us to provide a credible voice and develop partnerships for our clients that
will be critical to their long-term success.”
As Executive Director of the Clinton Administration's Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH)
program, Burdock worked directly with the President's Climate Change Advisor, the Council on Environmental
Quality and the Office of Science and Technology, along with 13 federal agencies. She also worked as a senior advisor
at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under President Clinton. Burdock recently launched the
Renewable Energy Business Network D.C. Chapter, and she serves on the Environmental Steering Committee of the
Episcopal Diocese of Maryland.
Lenard worked extensively as a Hill staffer on energy and environmental policy. Prior to her work as a senior
legislative aide to Senator Durbin she served as senior legislative assistant to Rep. Frank Pallone, providing counsel to
the senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and House Resources Committee on all energy and
environment matters. Lenard joined DLGS in 2007.
