„Die Liebe trägt die Seele, wie die Füße den Leib tragen.” Die italienische Mystikerin Katharina von Siena (1347 – 1380) hat wohl nicht an Arbeits- sicherheitsschuhe gedacht, als sie dieses Zitat prägte. Aber eine Gemein-samkeit mit der Stabilus Safety GmbH gibt es doch: Unsere Firmenphiloso-phie wird von der Liebe zur Qualität getragen – und von der Erkenntnis, dass der Mensch immer im Mittelpunkt steht.

Gerade 125 Gramm wiegen zusammen genommen die 28 Knochen, die ei-nen Fuß ausmachen. Und trotzdem muss dieses filigrane System selbst das gesamte Körpergewicht durchs Leben tragen. Obwohl das Barfußlaufen die natürlichste und gesündeste Art der Fortbewegung ist, kann sich der Mensch im modernen Arbeitsleben soviel Freiheit nicht leisten. Der Fuß braucht Sicherheit vor unebenen, scharfkantigen Untergründen genauso wie vor herabfallenden Gegenständen oder großen Temperatur-schwankungen.

“Love carries the soul, just as the feet carry the body”. The Italian mystic Katharina von Siena (1347-1380) probably wasn’t thinking about work safety shoes when she said this. There is however still a commonality with Stabilus Safety GmbH: Our company philosophy is driven by a love of quality – and by the knowledge that the person is always the focus.

All 28 bones that make up a foot together only weigh 125 grams, and yet this del-icate system has to support the whole weight of the body for its lifetime. Although going barefoot is the most natural and healthiest way of moving around, modern man does not have the freedom to do this in their working life.

The foot needs protection from uneven, sharp ground as well as from falling objects and large variations in temperature.

The young modern team at Stabilus Safety has more than 80 years’ experience in making shoes, which is the basis for their development of the ideal work safety shoe ranges.

The ingredients that make up this development are: the highest-quality materials, fully developed innovations and a constant focus on the individual needs of the customer; it is the customer who is the most important “colleague”, when it comes to quality management.

LEICHTIGKEIT IST EINE TUGEND DER NEW GENERATION

„Lernen besteht im Erinnern von Informationen, die bereits seit Generatio-nen in der Seele des Menschen wohnen.“ – „Jede Generation sollte die Firma stärker verlassen, als sie sie vorgefunden hat.“ Zwischen diesen Zi-taten liegen fast 2.500 Jahre und trotzdem beschreiben Sokrates und der ehemalige McKinsey-Unternehmensberater Jürgen Kluge dasselbe Prinzip: Eine neue Produktgeneration muss Bewährtes aus der Vergangenheit mit-nehmen und mit innovativen Ideen kombinieren.

Die aktuelle Weiterentwicklung der Traditionsfirma Stabilus Safety heißt nicht von ungefähr „New Generation“: leichter, schicker, individueller – aber so sicher wie Stabilus-Produkte eh und je – verbindet sie frischen Charak-ter mit bewährten Tugenden. Eine innovative Materialkombination aus Tex-tilien und Leder reduziert nicht nur das Gewicht, sondern ermöglicht auch eine extrem hohe Atmungsaktivität. Die spezielle Sportprofillaufsohle aus PU/TPU ermöglicht dem Träger einerseits eine leichtere Abroll- und Drehbe-wegung. Gleichzeitig schützt sie effektiv vor Umknick- und Rutschunfällen. Ihr ausgeprägtes Profil eignet sich vor allem für Arbeiten auf harten Böden, meistert aber ebenso auch Arbeiten auf anderen Untergründen. Die hoch-gezogene Sohle generiert einen zusätzlichen Kappenschutz.

Eine optimale Fersen- und Vorfußdämpfung ist natürlich auch bei der New Generation selbstverständlich. Und weil es im Job nicht selten schnell ge-hen muss, sind einige Modelle mit dem bequemen Schnellschnürsystem ausgerüstet, wobei hier in jedem Karton zusätzlich normale Schnürsenkel als Alternative beiliegen.

LIGHTNESS: A VIRTUE OF THE NEW GENERATION

“Learning means remembering information that has lived in the soul of man for generations.”– “Each generation should leave the company stronger than it found it.” Almost 2,500 years separate these two quotes, yet Socrates and former McKinsey corporate consultant Jürgen Kluge are describing the same principle: a new generation of products must carry forward tried and tested as-pects from the past and combine them with innovative ideas.

And it’s not without reason that the current development of long-standing com-pany Stabilus Safety is being called a “new generation”: lighter, sleeker and more individual – but as secure as Stabilus products have always been – they combine fresh character with established virtues. An innovative material combination comprising textiles and leather doesn’t just reduce the weight but also allows extremely good breathability. On the one hand, the special sport profile outsole made of PU/TPU allows the foot to turn and roll forward from heel to toe more easily. And on the other hand, it provides the wearer with efficient protection against twisting their ankle and slipping. The distinctive profile is particularly well suited to work on hard floors, but is also perfect for working on other surfaces. The raised sole creates additional toe protection.

Of course, optimum heel and forefoot cushioning is also a given for this new gen-eration. And because wearers’ jobs often involve acting swiftly, several models are equipped with the convenient quick-lacing system, although normal laces are provided as an alternative in every box.

THE JOGGER – RUN WITH THE JOB!

Work and sport present very similar challenges: in order to reach your set target you have to be fit enough and have the right tools. Having the right shoe is the basis for success for runners. With the new work safety shoe range JOGGER Stabilus has accepted the challenge of transferring the qualities of a good run-ning shoe onto a safety shoe.

As with all Stabilus ranges, the JOGGER stands out with its carefully thought-out combination of very high-quality materials. The shoe is made from breathable high-tech textiles and is fitted with a special insole. The JOGGER combines the optimum protective effect of a safety shoe with the comfortable flexibility of a running shoe. The wearer’s foot is however perfectly stabilised.

The highlight of the JOGGER is also its foundation: an exceptional Vibram sole. With the development of an extremely non-slip and abrasion-proof rubber sole the Italian mountaineer Vitale Bramani revolutionised first the climbing shoe in-dustry and then later, sports shoes. Famous names like Goodyear and Pirelli are intrinsically linked with the development of the Vibram sole.

In future the Stabilus name will also be linked with it, as they have had the op-portunity of being the first safety shoe manufacturer in Germany to fit a range of shoes using the sought-after Vibram sole with ESD. The high front means that the Vibram sole of the JOGGER creates a healthy flexing action.

The result is that with the JOGGER the wearer can take any job as a sporting chal-lenge – and can at the same time still enjoy the fashionable youthful appearance of this lightweight safety shoe.

DER JOGGER – DAMIT LÄUFT’S IM JOB!

Die Herausforderungen im Beruf und im Sport ähneln sich sehr: Um das ge-steckte Ziel zu erreichen, muss man fit genug sein und braucht das passende Werkzeug. Für Läufer ist der richtige Schuh die Basis des Erfolges. Mit der neuen Arbeitssicherheitsschuh-Linie JOGGER hat Stabilus die Herausfor-derung angenommen, die Eigenschaften eines guten Laufschuhs auf einen Sicherheitsschuh zu übertragen.

Wie bei allen Stabilus-Linien punktet der JOGGER mit einer durchdachten Kombination sehr hochwertiger Materialien. Der Schuh besteht aus atmungs-aktivem Hightech-Textilmaterial und wird mit einer speziellen Einlegesohle ausgestattet. Die optimale Schutzwirkung eines Sicherheitsschuhs verbindet der JOGGER mit der bequemen Flexibilität eines Laufschuhs. Dabei wird der Fuß des Trägers trotzdem ideal stabilisiert.

Das Highlight des JOGGER ist gleichzeitig sein Fundament: eine außerge-wöhnliche Vibram-Sohle. Der italienische Bergsteiger Vitale Bramani re-volutionierte mit der Entwicklung einer extrem rutsch- und abriebfesten Gummisohle zunächst die Bergschuh-Branche und später auch die Sport-schuhausstattung. Mit der Entwicklung der Vibram-Sohle sind renommierte Namen wie Goodyear oder Pirelli untrennbar verbunden.

Und künftig auch der Name Stabilus, denn Stabilus hat als einer der ersten Sicherheitsschuhhersteller in Deutschland die Möglichkeit erhalten, eine Schuhlinie mit den begehrten Vibram-Sohlen in ESD auszustatten. Durch die hochgezogene Front ermöglicht die Vibram-Sohle beim JOGGER außerdem eine gesunde Abrollbewegung.

Intelligent, chic, multi-purpose … and tough … the ACTIVEline is the result of consistent on-going development of the Stabilus model range. Intelligence is at the heart of this new development. The latest market research results aimed at specific groups of people are combined with 80 years of experience gained in safety shoe production.

The main part is played by the user’s foot, with its individual requirements. A large Vibratec cushioning element provides an incredibly soft tread over the whole heel and mid-foot area in all sizes, from 36 up to 48. High impacts are reduced to a minimum by a special soft midsole. The localised pressure of the heel bone is distributed over the whole surface of the heel and therefore reduced.

The result is the ACTIVEline adapts to the wearer’s foot, perfectly distributes the impact pressure over the whole sole and specifically cushions the stress of walking and standing. The ideal foot bed protects both the joints and the spinal discs, and takes the pressure off the spine.

The result is that walking and standing on hard ground or for long distances – the ideal field of application for this shoe range – is made significantly more pleasant, healthier and effortless with ACTIVEline. Thanks to its special construction from hard-wearing upper materials, breathable leather and functional textiles, the ACTIVEline range is lightweight and intelligent. The large TPU area on the sole with a profile depth of 3.8 mm effectively prevents slipping.

The standard toe caps and reflective stripes ensure optimum safety when work-ing in industrial, manufacturing or provision of services conditions.

Walking around outdoors on uneven surfaces increases the risk of tripping over. POWERline helps to protect against this with its wide PU soles with raised sides to support the joints; this offers stability while still providing the highest levels of flexibility. The rugged profile of the sole is self-cleaning and is particularly non-slip, with a profile depth of 5 mm.

The intelligent POWERline interior combines optimum support and cushioning for the foot with maintaining a comfortable environment. The ergonomic leather insole, with its high level of perforation, ensures long-lasting sweat absorption. The Air-Tech fleece is washable at 30 degrees and is anti-bacterial. An air chan-nel system on the reverse of the sole ensures optimum circulation of air. The areas in the middle and back of the foot are also encased in a flexible foam that ensures an optimum fit.

MEMBRANE FOR COMFORTABLE FOOT CLIMATE

The microclimate in your shoes is a really tough challenge for the involved ma-terials. External factors additionally affect your inshoe comfort. Throughout the day the circumstances change – but what remains is the wish for dry, warm feet.

What’s needed for this is Puratex membranes in conjunction with appropriate up-per and lining materials. Puratex ensures a pleasant microclimate in your shoes while protection you at the same time against water penetration.

STRUCTURE: Puratex is a poreless membrane made of water-vapour-transport-ing polymer ensuring high tear strength and long lifetimes.

FUNCTION: A higher temperature inside and a simultaneously rising concentra-tion of water vapour molecules produce a considerable pressure inside the shoe which forces the water vapour from the lining side through the membrane into the atmosphere.

RESULT: Your foot stays warm and dry!

MEMBRANE FÜR ANGENEHMES FUSSKLIMA

Das Klima in unseren Schuhen fordert die zu verarbeitenden Materialien ganz schön heraus. Äußere Einflüsse bestimmen das Wohlbefinden im Schuh zu-sätzlich. Den ganzen Tag über verändern sich die Umstände, was bleibt ist der Wunsch nach trockenen und warmen Füßen.

Dafür ist es notwendig Puratex-Membranen in Kombination mit Ober- und Innenfuttermaterialien einzusetzen. Puratex sorgt für ein angenehmes Klima im Schuh bei gleichzeitigem Schutz gegen Eindringen von Wasser.

AUFBAU: Puratex ist eine porenlose Membrane aus wasserdampftrans- portierendem Polymer. Dadurch wird eine hohe Reißfestigkeit und lange Lebensdauer gewährleistet.

FUNKTION: Eine höhere Temperatur im Inneren und eine gleichzeitig anstei-gende Konzentration von Wasserdampfmolekülen sorgen für einen erhöhten Druck im Innenschuh. Dieser treibt den Wasserdampf von der Futterseite durch die Membrane nach außen.

RESULTAT: Der Fuß bleibt trocken und warm!

Everyone wants to be fit for their job – the Stabilus classics literally makes light work of it. The sporty safety shoe is ideally suited to dry environments and also has excellent ergonomic properties.

Whether you need a size 36 or 47, the Vibratec cushioning element of the classics distributes the localised tread pressure over the whole surface of the heel. When placed under pressure the shoe adapts to the shape of the heel, over the whole weight range. High levels of impact are reduced to a minimum by the classics heel cushioning system.

The intelligent cushioning makes moving around and standing easy and effortless all the time – the spine, spinal discs and joints stay in top condition. The large tread area in the heel and ball of the foot, with a profile depth of 3.8mm, helps to protect the wearer from slipping.

Stabilus classics is the sporty, lightweight answer to hard surfaces indoors – and the permeable functional lining provides a breathable climate for your foot.

BE SAFE WITH THE STABILUS CERTIFICATE

Do you know the BGR 191 off by heart? Probably not, as the original has 91 pages! As an employee or employer you don’t have to know the Occupational Health & Safety Regulation 191 about accident prevention. You only have to know one thing: If you violate it – even unknowingly – it can cost you your accident insurance protection. Stabilus ensures that this does not happen.

BGR 191 regulates the use of foot and knee protection in the workplace. In 2007 the regulation was updated, and employers and employees now have to pay particular attention to their choice of work safety shoes, especially any changes to orthopaedic shoes.

For every orthopaedic shoe finish or use of an insole, an independent test in-stitute must confirm that the work shoe complies with the requirements of the EN ISO 20345 standard.

On an individual bases neither the employer or employee can afford these cost-intensive measures. Stabilus Safety GmbH has relieved its customers of this procedure and had the different designs from their own range pre-certified for numerous orthopaedic changes.

SICHER MIT STABILUS-ZERTIFIKAT

Kennen Sie die BGR 191 auswendig? Wohl kaum, denn sie hat im Original 91 Seiten! Auswendig kennen muss man die Berufsgenossenschafts-Regel 191 zur Unfallverhütung als Mitarbeiter oder Arbeitgeber auch nicht. Nur eines sollte man wissen: Wenn man – selbst unwissentlich – gegen sie verstößt, kann das den Unfallversicherungsschutz kosten. Die Firma Stabilus sorgt dafür, dass das nicht passiert.

Die BGR 191 regelt die Benutzung von Fuß- und Knieschutz am Arbeitsplatz. 2007 sorgte eine Novellierung der Regel dafür, dass Arbeitgeber und Arbeit-nehmer bei der Wahl ihrer Arbeitssicherheitsschuhe und vor allem bei ortho-pädieschuhtechnischen Veränderungen besonders aufpassen müssen.

Bei jeder orthopädischen Schuhzurichtung oder Verwendung einer Einlage muss ein unabhängiges Prüfinstitut bestätigen, dass der Arbeitsschuh noch den Anforderungen der Norm EN ISO 20345 entspricht.

Diese kostenintensive Maßnahme kann im Einzelfall weder der Arbeitnehmer noch der Arbeitgeber leisten. LIGHTNING AT YOUR FINGERTIPS – ESD PROTECTION IS HUGELY IMPORTANT

When a tree is struck by lightning, powerful forces are discharged. Have you also thought about the fact that when you’re working in sensitive areas lightning comes from your fingers too?

ESD – electrostatic discharge is a daily experience. When you walk over carpet wearing rubber soles and then touch a metal door handle you get a small un-pleasant shock, because the electricity charged in your body discharges through the conductive handle. Up to 30,000 volts can flow through the body and yet this discharge generally isn’t dangerous for people.

It’s a different matter entirely when it comes to highly sensitive industrial com-ponents. While a person only notices an electrical discharge through their fingers from around 3,000 volts, 100 volts of ESD are enough to erase a magnetic data carrier. Between 5 and 20 volts can damage a computer’s hard disc. Electrostatic discharge from people in the micro environment of high-tech production really is like lightning striking a tree.

ESD can cause fires in areas where flammable liquids or gas, films or paper are used as ESD can often cause small sparks.

In environments like mills which produce a high concentration of dust, in a ex-treme case a spark can lead to an explosion.

The ESD material in Stabilus safety shoes provides effective protection from small, dangerous flashes. Thanks to the conductive outer sole, the conductive leather insole and the conductive insert, designed to work perfectly together, the wearer is earthed and discharged with every step.

Warning: Any break in the chain, e.g. caused by using your own orthopaedic insert, which is not conductive, puts the wearer at risk of lightning sparks again! Only certified original insoles from Stabilus or tested orthopaedic inserts that have been approved by Stabilus offer optimum protection.

DER BLITZ IN DEN FINGERSPITZEN – ESD-SCHUTZ IST ENORM WICHTIG

Wenn ein Blitz in einen Baum einschlägt, entladen sich beeindruckende Kräfte. Aber hätten Sie gedacht, dass beim Arbeiten in sensiblen Bereichen auch aus Ihren Fingern Blitze fahren?

ESD – electrostatic discharge (auf Deutsch: Elektrostatische Entladung) ist eine alltägliche Erfahrung. Wer mit Gummisohlen über den Teppich geht, bekommt hinterher an der Metallklinke einen kleinen unangenehmen Schlag, weil sich eine Aufladung des Körpers mit Strom über die leitfähige Klinke entlädt. Bis zu 30.000 Volt können so durch den Körper fließen und trotzdem ist diese Entla-dung für den Menschen meistens ungefährlich.

Ganz anders sieht es mit hochempfindlichen Bauteilen in der Industrieprodukti-on aus. Während der Mensch eine elektrostatische Entladung über seine Finger überhaupt erst ab etwa 3.000 Volt wahrnimmt, reichen schon 100 Volt ESD, um einen magnetischen Datenträger zu löschen. Fünf bis 20 Volt können eine Computer-Harddisk schädigen. Die elektrostatische Entladung des Menschen wirkt im Mikrobereich der Hightech-Produktion im wahrsten Sinne wie ein Blitz auf einen Baum.

Brandgefährlich wird ESD in Bereichen, in denen brennbare Flüssigkeiten oder Gase, Folien oder Papier verarbeitet werden. Denn nicht selten verursacht ESD auch kleine Funkenschläge.

In Umgebungen wie etwa Mühlen, in denen eine hohe Konzentration von Staub vorkommt, kann so ein Funke im Extremfall zu einer Explosion führen.

Die ESD-Ausrüstung bei Stabilus Sicherheitsschuhen schützt effektiv vor den kleinen, gefährlichen Blitzen. Durch eine aufeinander abgestimmte Kette aus leitfähiger Laufsohle, leitfähiger Lederbrandsohle und leitfähiger Einlage wird der Mitarbeiter bei jedem Schritt geerdet und entladen.

Aber Vorsicht: Jede Unterbrechung der Kette, z.B. durch eine eigene orthopä-dische Einlage, die nicht leitfähig ist, macht den Mitarbeiter wieder zur fun-kenschlagenden Blitzgefahr! Optimalen Schutz bieten nur zertifizierte Original Einlegesohlen von Stabilus oder baumustergeprüfte orthopädische Einlagen, die von Stabilus freigegeben sind.

Unsere Artikel haben die Typprüfung einer anerkannten Prüfstelle bestanden. Die Grund- und Zu-satzanforderungen bestimmen den Schutzgrad uns sind aus der sich an den Schuhen befindlichen Kennzeichnung zu entnehmen.

The CE mark means that these shoes comply in principle with the requirements of the EG Directive on personal protective equipment as regards innocuousness, skid resistance, durability and comfort. Our products have passed the type-testing carried out by an approved testing institution. The basic and supplementary requirements determine the degree of protection and can be found on the label attached to the shoes.
