How did the collaboration between Son Gual and Leonius come into being?At the outset both companies shared values of exclusive customer service, reliability and continuity, and subsequently these led to a chain reaction. What distinguishes Son Gual from other golf courses on Mallorca?Son Gual is convincing for numerous very well-known reasons, and the course establishes new benchmarks in the sport of golf on Mallorca. Its atmosphere is unique, “peerless”. Its members have the feeling that they form part of a big family, as if they were “returning to the fold”. What steps does one have to take to become a member of Golf Son Gual? The members of Son Gual form part of an exclusive golf club which is moreover charac-terised by an extremely friendly atmosphere. We attribute a great deal of importance to whether potential new members share the phi-losophy that prevails at Son Gual, and whether they adapt to the club. You run Leonius Family Office. And you also advise members of Son Gual on other issues, if they so desire...Our primary activity is asset management and administration. And we also act as a trusted agent and fiduciary. We handle the establish-ment of companies or businesses in the real estate sector for our clients, helping them with all the issues that arise when you choose the island as your new home base. We accompany them on this new path, dealing with all their economic and private matters.

El ambiente es único, “sin par”. Los socios tie-nen la sensación de formar parte de una gran familia, como si “volviesen a casa”. ¿Qué pasos hay que seguir para ser socio de Golf Son Gual? Los miembros de Son Gual forman parte de un club de golf exclusivo que se caracteriza por un ambiente muy familiar. Damos mucha importancia al hecho de que los posibles nue-vos socios compartan la filosofía que se vive en Son Gual y que se adapten al club. Usted dirige la Leonius Family Office y, si lo desean, asesora a los socios también en otras materias.Nuestra actividad principal es la administra-ción y gestión de bienes. Wido Roessler hat seine langjährige Karri-ere als Rennfahrer 2010 nach dem Gewinn der Ferrari Challenge als Europameister beendet. El Saluet takes its name from the small stream that crosses this area of Port d’Andratx, one of the most beautiful and exclusive places on Mallorca. Our restau-rant offers an extensive menu of dishes from different countries – India, Spain, Thailand, the US...

What would you say is the key to the suc-cess of your restaurant? We are different to any other restaurant in the Port, because we offer a unique style of cuisine based on Indian food, fused deliciously with that of other parts of the world. El Saluet holds 4th place out of over 50 restaurants in the area on Tripadvisor.What is your star dish?My personal favourite (Paul says) is our Madras lamb curry with a side serving of spinach and Indian bread.And what do you like the most about Golf Son Gual?Son Gual has the very best one could hope for in a golf club. The condition of the course is perfect, just like the rest of its facilities. Both the clubhouse and the restaurant are staffed by highly professional, friendly per-sonnel. Anyone who visits Son Gual is sure to have an unforgettable day.

In 2010, after winning the Ferrari Chal-lenge as European champion, Wido Roess-ler ended his long professional career as a racing driver. Since then, he has been in charge of the restaurant, “Spoon”. As a couple Axel Gerdes-Roeben and Heidi Lübke, a Son Gual member and owner of Billy’s Fashiongroup, are united by their taste for high quality and their passion for golf, as well as many other things. What is Spoon’s speciality? The menu offers culinary creations for all tastes. Both our Asian dishes and the Wiener schnitzel are classics held in high esteem by our customers. What would you say is remarkable about the location of the restaurant? The prem-ises are on the seafront of Puerto Portals. There are always parking spaces practically right in front of our door. And the fantastic views of the harbour with its yachts which customers can enjoy. Why do you recommend Golf Son Gual? Spoon and Son Gual have much in com-mon: excellent quality, first-rate service. And spending time in pleasant company in meticulously-kept surroundings.

Somos diferentes a otros restaurantes del Puerto, pues ofrecemos una cocina única basada en la comida india, con una deli-ciosa fusión de otras partes del mundo. El Saluet ocupa el puesto número 4 de más de 50 restaurantes de la zona en el buscador Tripadvisor.¿Cuál es su plato estrella?Personalmente (dice Paul) mi plato favorito es nuestro cordero de Madrás al curry con guarnición de espinacas y pan indio.Y de Golf Son Gual, ¿Qué es lo que más les gusta?Son Gual tiene lo mejor que se puede espe-rar de un club de golf. El estado del campo es perfecto, al igual que el resto de instala-ciones. Tanto el club house como el restau-rante cuentan con personal muy amable y profesional. Quien visita Son Gual vive una jornada inolvidable.

El menú ofrece creaciones culinarias para todos los gustos. Nuestros platos asiáticos, así como el escalope a la vienesa, son clásicos muy apre-ciados por nuestros clientes. ¿Qué destacaría de la ubicación del res-taurante? El local está en primera línea de Puerto Portals. Siempre hay aparcamientos prácticamente delante de nuestra puerta. Y las magníficas vistas al puerto con sus yates, de las que nuestros clientes pueden disfrutar. ¿Por qué recomienda el Golf Son Gual? El Spoon y Son Gual tienen mucho en común: la excelente calidad, el servicio de primera. Y estar en compañía de agradables personas en un ambiente muy cuidado.

Anfang April verteidigte der Deutsche Jürgen Brähmer (43-2, 32 KO’s), Welt-meister im Halbschwergewicht, seinen WBA-Titel in Rostock gegen den Waliser Enzo Maccarinelli. At the beginning of April, German cham-pion Jürgen Brähmer (43-2, 32 KO’s) retained his WBA light heavyweight title by defeating Welshman Enzo Maccarinelli with a sixth-round technical knockout in a fight held in Rostock, Germany. Our new practice area is designed to help the golfer refine and improve his short game and approach shot skills, which is such an important part of the game to be able to score well.You will find room to practice up to 120 m and closer, bunker shots around the green as also long distance, and as a special area we have installed a bullseye green where you can practice from 80 m and closer; this will really test your skills and touch for distance control and finesse shots which are so important when you are playing the course.We believe in constantly improving our facilities and especially our prac-tice areas, this is just one more aspect we feel will help every golfer improve his skills and enjoy our club facilities even more.

Unser neues Übungsgelände haben wir für die Spieler gestaltet, die ihr Kurzspiel und das Chippen verbessern möchten. Beide Konzepte sind für gute Ergebnisse beim Golfspiel unverzichtbar. Trainiert werden können Schläge bis zu 120 Metern sowie Schläge auf die Bunker um die greens oder Schläge über lange Distanzen. Wie sieht Ihr Arbeitstag aus?Zuerst überprüfe ich, ob die Bäume beschä-digt sind und ich den Schaden umgehend beheben kann. Dann erkundige ich mich bei den greenkeepern, ob sie Schäden beobachtet haben. Die greenkeeper sind mir eine große Hilfe, denn es ist nicht leicht, auf dem riesi-gen Platz alles im Blick zu behalten. Je nach Jahreszeit kümmere ich mich ums Düngen oder Beschneiden der Bäume. Wieviele Bäume gibt es auf Son Gual?Mehr als tausend! Das ist auch eines der Dinge, die Son Gual zu einem solch außer-gewöhnlichen Golfplatz machen. Vor einigen Jahren schlug der Blitz in einen Johannisbrot-baum ein, der Baum brannte völlig aus. Abge-sehen vom Wind, der den Baümen zu schaf-fen macht, ist der Golfplatz perfekt gepflegt. Sie kümmern sich auch um Blumen und andere Pflanzen?Ja, es gibt Beete mit Sonnentaler, Marga-riten und Rosen. Beim Beschneiden von Sträuchern kreiere ich Formen oder Figu-ren. Son Gual ist ein Ort, wo ich gern arbei-te und Spaß daran habe.

How does your day’s work at Son Gual begin?The first thing I do is check whether there are any damaged trees, so as to heal them straight away. Then I ask the greenkeepers if they have seen any trees that need some kind of special attention; they are a great help to me, as the course is huge and it’s difficult to cover all the terrain. Then, depend-ing on the time of year, I spend my time fertilizing, pruning, cutting back shrubs, and so on.

¿Cómo es su día cuando empieza la jorna-da en Son Gual?Lo primero que hago es fijarme en si hay árboles dañados, para poder sanar-los inmediatamente. También pregunto a los greenkeepers si han visto algún árbol al que haya que prestarle cierta atención, ellos me ayudan mucho pues el campo es enorme y cuesta abarcarlo todo. Luego, según la época del año, me dedico a abo-nar, a podar, a recortar los arbustos, etc.¿Cuántos árboles hay ahora en Son Gual?Más de mil. Son muchos y esa es una de las claves de que Son Gual sea un lugar tan especial. Hace unos años un rayo partió un algarrobo, lo quemó literalmente. Aparte de anécdotas como ésta, o del viento que siempre hace sufrir a los árboles, la verdad es que todo está mantenido en muy buenas condiciones. ¿Usted también se encarga de las flores y otras plantas?Sí, tenemos canteros de gazanias, margari-tas, rosales... También doy formas artísti-cas a los arbustos y otras plantas. Son Gual es un lugar en el que uno disfruta mucho trabajando.

Welche Baumarten gibt es auf Son Gual?Vor allem einheimische Arten, wie Oli-venbäume, Oleaster, Johannisbrotbäume, Pinien oder Zypressen. Die meisten Bäume standen schon vor dem Bau des Golfplatzes hier. Später wurden mehr als 800 Oliven-bäume gepflanzt, ein prachtvolles Natur-wunder! Auf Mallorca gibt es nur einen Golfplatz mit derart vielen Olivenbäumen und das ist Son Gual.

Joan Riera (Palma, 1975) has been a gar-dener for 20 years, and has been in charge of tending to the trees of Golf Son Gual since 2005, before the course was even inaugurated.

What species of trees can be found at Son Gual?Basically indigenous trees – cultivated and wild olive trees, carob trees, pines, cypresses... Most of the trees here were already planted before construction of the course began. After it commenced, more than 800 ancient olive trees were brought here, and they are abso-lutely wonderful. No other course on Mallorca has as many olive trees as Son Gual.

¿Qué especies de árboles se encuentran en Son Gual?Fundamentalmente árboles autóctonos: olivos, acebuches, algarrobos, pinos, cipreses... La mayoría de los árboles que se encuentran en el campo ya estaban plantados antes de empe-zar a construir el campo. Después se trajeron más de 800 olivos centenarios, que son una verdadera maravilla. Es imposible encontrar en Mallorca otro campo con tantos olivos.

How many trees are there at Son Gual right now?Over a thousand. It’s a lot, and this is one of the reasons why Son Gual is such a special place. A few years ago a carob was split open by a bolt of lightning – it quite literally burned it up. Aside from a few anecdotes like this one, or the wind which always makes trees suffer, the truth is that everything is kept in an excellent condition. Do you also take care of the flowers and other plants?Yes, we have flowerbeds with gazanias, daisies, rose bushes... And I shape the bushes and other plants to give them artistic forms. Son Gual is a place where you can really enjoy your work.

Am 11. Januar fand auf dem Golfplatz Son Gual das erste von vier Turnieren des Mal-lorca Grand Slam statt. Die anderen drei Runden wurden auf den Golfplätzen Alcana-da, Son Muntaner und Pula ausgetragen. Die Teilnehmer des Turniers reisten aus der gan-zen Welt an, das maximale Handicap lag bei 26 (Herren) bzw. 36 (Damen), gespielt wurde paarweise im Stableford-Modus. Héctor Alle-ment Espinoza und Daniela Modrok waren die glücklichen Sieger. Auf die Gewinner warteten attraktive Prämien, u.a. greenfees auf Son Gual und den anderen Golfplätzen sowie auf den Courts La Reserva Almenara und San Roque Club (beide Cádiz) und dem Golfplatz Kingsbarns (Schottland). El pasado 11 de enero se celebró en Golf Son Gual la primera de las cuatro pruebas que componen el Mallorca Grand Slam (las otras tres tuvieron lugar en los campos de Alcanada, Son Muntaner y Pula). Esta competi-ción, que reúne a jugadores de todo el mundo (handicap máximo de 26 para hombres y 36 para mujeres), se juega en la modalidad pare-jas mejor bola Stableford. La pareja ganadora del torneo resultó ser la compuesta por Héctor Allement Espinoza y Daniela Modrok. Entre los premios que se llevaron los parti-cipantes hubo greenfees para jugar en Son Gual y los otros campos, además de en La Reserva Almenara y San Roque Club, en Cádiz, y Kingsbarns, en Escocia. También relojes de la marca Sandoz, patrocinadora del torneo, y un fin de semana en el Parador El Saler de Valencia.Golf Son Gual cumplió como siempre con las expectativas creadas, concitando las alaban-zas de los jugadores participantes tanto por su espectacular recorrido como por el resto de sus instalaciones.

On January 11th the first of the four trials that comprise the Mallorca Grand Slam was held at Golf Son Gual. The other three took place on the Alcanada, Son Muntaner and Pula courses. For this competition, which draws players from all over the world together, (maximum handicap 26 for men and 36 for ladies), the mode of play is the best ball Stableford system for pairs. The winning pair were Hector Allement Espi-noza and Daniela Modrok. The prizes the participants took away with them included green fees to play at Son Gual and on the other courses, and also at La Reserva Almenara and San Roque Club, in Cadiz, and Kingsbarns Golf Links, in Scot-land. Definitely one of Son Gual’s great classic tournaments, bearing the seal of the Pamer family. For years now the Georgys’ friendliness and charm has made them one of the best-loved couples at Son Gual. El matrimonio Georgy es una de las parejas más queridas en Golf Son Gual desde hace años, por su amabilidad y simpatía. Another tournament with a growing tra-dition, this time in aid of a good cause worth contributing to – raising funds for charity work and to help those most in need. After a day of golf and friendship, all the players and the sponsors par-ticipate actively in the charity gala, thus chipping in to the cause.

This is one of the most innovative and entertaining tournaments in the Son Gual season. Tal fue el éxito de los torneos anteriores, que Peter Wackel, el famoso cantante ale-mán, vuelve a Son Gual para capitanear y disfrutar con el torneo que lleva su nombre. Un montón de amigos volverán a pasar un día inolvidable jugando al golf, degustando un grill-buffet y el cocktail-bar, y bailando con el ritmo de los dj’s y la música en directo.

Como viene sucediendo durante los últimos años, en el mes de octubre Son Gual vuelve a ser una de las sedes de este torneo que cuenta cada vez con una mayor participación. BAVARIAN GOLF TOURNAMENT (8.11.2014)Das Turnier ist so bekannt, dass sich viele Worte erübrigen. Ein besonderer Blickfang sind immer die in typisch bayerische Trachten gekleideten Spieler. Außer köstlichen Schmankerln wird auch dieses Jahr wieder das Hesselberg Duo für musikalische Unterhaltung sorgen. Ein fröh-liches Turnier, bei dem alle Teilnehmer unser geliebtes Bayern so richtig hochleben lassen.

Son Gual ist einer von zwei Golfplätzen, auf denen Lindner im zweiten Jahr in Folge das firmeneigene Turnier veranstaltet. Im Hotel wird es anschließend ein Galadinner mit Sie-gerehrung geben. Aus diesem Anlass offeriert Lindner ein Pauschalangebot der Extraklasse: drei Übernachtungen im Hotel Lindner, green-fees für die Turniertage sowie Galadinner zum Preis von 495 Euro pro Person.

The patios of Can Vivot, with its long marble col-umns, and the Palace of Can Oleza, are held in high esteem by enthusiasts of the Baroque style. Can Marquès, with its Modernist air, and Can Pásquela, have a markedly mixed quality with their Gothic Revival windows and Baroque columns. And the patios of Son Can Catlar del Llorer and Can Ale-many, beacons of the Gothic style, are particularly noteworthy. But each patio has its own singular charm waiting to be discovered by onlookers. MALLORQUINISCHER STOCKFISCH IM TONTOPF MALLORCAN-STYLE COD “GREXONERA” GREXONERA DE BACALAO A LA MALLORQUINAZUTATEN:4 Stück Stockfisch, 2 Bund Lauchzwiebeln, 2 Porree-Stangen, 500g Kartoffeln, 2 Bund Spinat, ½ Bund Petersilie, 3 Tomaten, 3 Knoblauchzehen, 1 rote Paprikaschote, 50ml Weißwein, 75g Rosinen, 20g Pinienkerne, 150ml Olivenöl, Salz, schwarzer Pfeffer, 2TL süßer Paprika, Mehl.

Den Stockfisch 48 Stunden vorher entsalzen, dabei das Wasser sechs Mal austauschen. Spinat waschen, Stiele abschneiden und in Streifen schneiden. Zwiebeln schälen, Lauch abschneiden, waschen und in Streifen schneiden. Knoblauch schälen und in sehr kleine Stücke hacken. Petersilie waschen und Blätter in Streifen schneiden. Paprikaschote waschen und in Stückchen schneiden. Kartoffeln schälen, waschen und in Scheiben schneiden. Öl in einer Pfanne erhitzen und die Kartoffeln darin bei mittlerer Flamme frittieren. Anschließend in einem Tontopf auslegen. Stockfisch mit Küchenpapier abtrocknen, mit Mehl bestäuben und braten. Danach über die Kartoffeln im Tontopf schichten. Im selben Öl Knoblauch, Lauchzwiebeln und die gehäuteten, in Stücke geschnittenen Tomaten anbraten. Spinat und Paprikaschote zufügen und anbraten . Umrühren und Peters i l ie , Rosinen und Pinienkerne zufügen. Mit dem Weißwein ablöschen und reduzieren. Dann alles auf dem Stockfisch verteilen, Tomatenscheiben auf legen und den gehackten Knoblauch darüber streuen. Ofen auf 180° vorheizen, den Tontopf in den Ofen stellen und 15 Minuten backen.

INGREDIENTS:4 pieces of cod, 2 bunches of spring onions, 2 leeks, 500 g potatoes, 2 bunches of spinach, ½ bunch of parsley, 3 tomatoes, 3 cloves of garlic, 1 red pepper, 50 ml white wine, 75 g raisins, 20 g pine nuts, 150 ml olive oil, salt, black pepper, 2 spoonfuls of paprika, flour.

Start desalting the cod 48 hours in advance, changing the water six times over 48 hours.Wash the spinach, cut off the stalks and shred.Peel the spring onions, cut off the part with the green leaves and cut lengthwise, wash and julienne.Peel the garlic cloves and chop finely.Wash the parsley and julienne the leaves.Wash and dice the pepper.Peel the potatoes, wash and slice.Put some oil into a frying pan and fry the potatoes over a medium flame. Arrange in a terracotta dish (grexonera).Drain the cod and dry with absorbent paper towels. Coat in flour, fry and place on top of the potatoes.Using the same oil, fry the garlic, spring onion and two peeled, chopped tomatoes.Add the spinach and pepper and fry lightly. Add the pepper, turn over once and add the parsley, raisins, pine nuts and white wine. Leave to reduce, spread over the cod, place the tomato slices on top and sprinkle on the chopped garlic.Preheat the oven to 180 °, put the dish inside and bake for 15 minutes.

INGREDIENTES:4 trozos de bacalao, 2 manojos de cebolleta, 2 puerros, 500 gr de patatas, 2 manojos de espinacas, ½ manojo de perejil, 3 tomates, 3 dientes de ajo, 1 pimiento rojo, 50 ml vino blanco, 75 gr pasas, 20 gr piñones, 150 ml de aceite de oliva, sal, pimienta negra, 2 cucharadas pimentón colorado dulce, harina.

48 horas antes poner el bacalao a desalar, cambiándole el agua seis veces durante 48 horas.Lavar las espinacas, cortar los troncos y cortar en juliana.Pelar la cebolleta, cortar un trozo de la parte de las hojas verdes y partir transversal, lavar y cortar en juliana.Pelar los ajos y cortar muy pequeño.Lavar el perejil y cortar las hojas en juliana.Lavar y cortar el pimiento en trocitos.Pelar las patatas, lavar y cortar en rodajas.En una sartén se pone aceite y se fríen las patatas a fuego medio y se ponen en una olla de barro colocadas.Se escurre el bacalao y se seca con un papel absorbente, se enharina y se fríe y se pone encima de las patatas.En el mismo aceite, se fríe el ajo, la cebolleta y dos tomates pelados y troceados.Se añaden las espinacas y pimiento y se sofríe, se añade el pimiento, se da una vuelta y se añade el perejil, las pasas, los piñones y el vino blanco, se deja reducir, se pone encima del bacalao, se ponen las rodajas de tomate y se espovorea el ajo picado.Precalentamos el horno a 180 °, ponemos la cazuela y se hornea durante 15 minutos.

In spite of the fact that with today’s glo-balisation it is easy enough to find varieties from all over the world in the market, the fish found in Balearic waters is still a distinct deli-cacy due to its freshness, quality and flavour. Indeed, it is one of the most popular ingredients in the delicious Mallorcan gastronomy. Of the many varieties to be sampled, in the region of s’Albufera we find one of the stars, the eel, indispensable for preparing espi-nagada, a kind of pie filled with vegetables and raisins typical of the fiestas of Sant Antoni. And the coast of Mallorca harbours other trea-sures, such as the red Sóller prawns, in high demand in luxury restaurants due to their unique flavour. Transparent goby (jonquillos) are the main ingredient of another quintessen-tial dish, raoles, a dough made of flour and egg fried in olive oil. And some other extremely popular fish on the tables of Mallorcan homes are dentex, skate, pearly razorfish, mahi-mahi, grouper (anfòs) or great amberjack.

Auch wenn man dank der Globalisierung heute Fisch aus aller Herren Länder kaufen kann, so ist der Fisch rund um die Baleari-schen Inseln nach wie vor unübertroffen, was Frische, Qualität und Geschmack angeht. A pesar de que en plena globalización hoy es sencillo encontrar en el mercado variedades de todas partes del mundo, el pescado que se encuentra en aguas de Balea-res sigue siendo un manjar distinto por su frescura, su calidad y su sabor. No en vano es uno de los alimentos más populares de la rica gastronomía mallorquina.
