L’Alta Pusteria nelle Dolomiti – Patrimonio Naturale UNESCOThe Alta Pusteria in the Dolomites – UNESCO Natural World Hertitage

Seit dem 26. Juni 2009 ist es offiziell. Die Dolomiten sind von der UNESCO zum Weltnaturerbe gekürt worden. Was die Dolomiten so einzigartig macht, können die Gäste im Südtiroler Hochpustertal besonders eindrucksvoll erleben. Rund um die berühmten Drei Zinnen locken herrliche Wege, einsame Bergseen, berühmte Berghütten und viel unverfälschte Tradition.

Die Dolomitengipfel wirken wie in Stein gehauene Statuen. Diesen eindruck vermitteln auf eindrucksvolle Weise die Berge im Hoch-pustertal. Ganz besonders natürlich die weltberühmten Drei Zinnen, die wie kaum ein anderer Gipfel die einzigartigkeit der Dolomiten repräsentieren.

Doch nicht nur diese, auch die benachbarten Berge wie der Patern-kofel, die Dreischusterspitze oder der Haunold und die Rotwand zählen in Bergsteigerkreisen zu absoluten Klassikern. Majestätische Felsformationen und romantische Landschaften, dieses Dolomiten- charakteristikum lässt sich im Südtiroler Hochpustertal sehr intensiv erleben. Zum Beispiel am Ufer des idyllischen Pragser Wildsees, dem wahrscheinlich schönsten Bergsee in den Dolomiten, der von dunklen Wäldern und den steilen Felswänden des Seekofels ein-gerahmt wird.

A partire dal 26 giugno 2009 è diventato ufficiale: le Dolomiti sono state elette Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’UNESCO. Ciò che rende le Dolomiti uniche al mondo lo si può scoprire da vicino soprattutto nell’Alta Pusteria in Alto Adige: attorno alle famosis-sime Tre Cime di Lavaredo Vi aspettano meravigliosi sentieri, la-ghetti sperduti tra le montagne, rifugi rinomati e tanta autentica tradizione.

Le montagne dell’Alta Pusteria, più di tutte le altre cime dolomitiche,suscitano l’impressione di essere sculture scavate nella roccia, in particolar modo le famosissime Tre cime di Lavaredo, che rappre-sentano l’unicità e la peculiarità delle Dolomiti come quasi nessun altra cima.

Ma anche altre montagne nelle vicinanze, come il Monte Paterno, la cima Tre Scarperi, il Monte Baranci e la croda Rossa di Sesto, rientrano nelle mete classiche degli alpinisti. Maestose configura-zioni rocciose e paesaggi romantici: sono proprio queste le peculiarità delle Dolomiti che risaltano in maniera evidente nell’Alta Pusteria in Alto Adige. Le si riscontra anche sulle sponde dell’idilliaco Lago di Braies, probabilmente il lago alpino più affascinante nel territorio dolomitico, incorniciato da boschi scuri e dalle ripide pareti rocciose della croda del Becco.

It is official; on 26 June 2009 "The Dolomites" were declared a Natural World Heritage Site. What makes the Dolomites appeal so unique can be experienced by the guests. Around the famous “Three Peaks” (Tre Cime/Drei Zinnen) are alluring and magnifi-cent paths, isolated mountain lakes, renowned mountain huts and lots of pure tradition.

The Dolomite summits have the effect of projecting carved statues in stone; these impressions are very evident in the mountain ranges of the Alta Pusteria. Particularly the world famous “Drei Zinnen” (Three Peaks), which no other sumit in the Dolomites can copy its

uniqueness; but of course the neighbouring mountains such as the Paternkofel, Dreischusterspitze or the Haunold and the Rotwand are revered as absolute classics in mountaineering circles.

The typical Dolomite characteristics of majestic rock formations and romantic landscapes are intensely experienced in the Alta Pusteria region of South Tyrol. For example, the banks of the idyllic Lake Braies/Prags, probably the most beautiful mountain lake in the Dolomites, which is flanked by dark forests and framed by, steep rock faces of the Seekofels mountain.

Hans Kammerlander, der weltweit be-kannte Extrembergsteiger, kommt aus einem kleinen Bergdorf in Südtirol. Ist er nicht ge-rade im Himalaya oder Karakorum unter-wegs, unternimmt er in seiner Heimat al-lerlei Touren, die jedoch stets einen Schritt ins Extreme gehen.Bestes Beispiel für diesen extremen "Touch" sind seine 24-und 36-Stunden-Wanderungen in den Bergen Südtirols. Diese unternimmt er mit fitten Wanderern, die nicht davor zurückschrecken, Grenzen zu erfahren, sondern dann erst richtig aufleben, ganz unter dem Motto: "So weit die Füße tragen". Auch im Sommer 2011 wird wiederum eine 24-Stunden-Wanderung mit Hans Kammer-lander statt finden. Höhenrausch und Schlaf-entzug … ein wohl unvergessliches erlebnis in den Sextner Dolomiten.

Hans Kammerlander, the extreme climber of world renown, comes from a small mountain village in South Tyrol. If he is not at the moment in the Himalayas or Karakorum, he goes in for all kinds of tours in his native country that however con-stantly push him towards his limits.The best examples of this extreme touch are his 24 and 36-hour walking tours in the mountains of South Tyrol. Se, infatti, in questo istante non è in viaggio per l'Himalaya o il Karakorum, è sulle vette di casa e sta intraprendendo ardite escursioni, che mirano sempre a sfi-dare corpo e natura. Il miglior esempio di questa sua propensione per le imprese sportive sono i suoi trekking della straordinaria durata di 24 e 36 ore sulle catene montuose dell’Alto Adige. compagni di queste temerarie azioni sono spesso escursionisti con una buona preparazione atletica, che non hanno paura di confrontarsi con i propri limiti, ma che, proprio dalla dif-ficoltà e dallo sforzo prolungato, traggono lo sprint giusto per proseguire in quest’espe-rienza unica insieme al noto scalatore, all’insegna del motto: "Finché i piedi reggono". Il viaggio di gruppo di 24 ore con Hans Kammerlander anche per l’estate 2011 verrà nuovamente organizzato. Senza dubbio l’eb-brezza d’alta quota, nonostante la privazione del sonno, rappresenta un’esperienza davvero intensa e indimenticabile nel cuore delle Dolomiti di Sesto.

romantic mountain lakes, the region pro-vides mountain climbers and hikers with unique opportunities. Hikers not bent on

setting records in terms of metres climbed can ascend with lift facilities, and nonetheless enjoy high alpine tours offering a breathtak-ing panorama. The Three Peaks Dolomites and the Fanes- Senes-Braies natural Parks offer a wealth of climbing routes, not only challenging and famous ones but also more easy-going yet nonetheless scenic climbs. A circuit trek around the famous peaks offers similar enjoyment and scenery.If you like to do a mountain tour please con-tact a mountain guide. Immer wieder geht die Sonne auf – aber der Sonnenaufgang auf 2.434 Metern See-höhe hat einen außergewöhnlichen Reiz. Die Morgensonne färbt den Himmel und taucht das Gipfelmeer der Sextner Dolomiten in ein sagenhaft rötliches Schimmern.

Diesem naturspektakel geht ein abenteuerlicher Morgentrip voraus: noch im Dunkel der nacht legen die Teilnehmer mit der Pano-ramakabinenbahn Sexten mühelos die über 900 Höhenmeter auf den Helm zurück. Dann folgt ein rund einstündiger Fußmarsch. Und der lohnt sich, denn am Gipfel breiten sich Täler und Bergmassive wie auf einer riesigen überdimensionalen Kinoleinwand aus – im 360° Blick – wohlgemerkt.Die erlebnisfahrten zum Sonnenaufgang finden zwischen Mitte Juli und Mitte September statt und werden je nach Wetterlage kurz-fristig bekanntgegeben.

della notte la funivia panoramica di Sesto aiuta a superare 900 metri di dislivello. Poi bisogna fare da soli: una camminata di cir-ca un’ora, che merita di essere fatta, perchè in vetta le vallate e i massicci si presentano come in un enorme cinema tridimensionale e a 360°.Le corse per assistere al sorgere del sole si effettuano tra metà luglio e metà settembre; le date verranno comunicate poco prima in base alle previsioni del tempo.

The sun always rises – but the sunrise on the Monte Elmo located at an altitude of 2 434m above sea level, has an unusual attraction. The morning sun paints the sky and immerses the summits of the Sesto Do-lomites into an incredible reddish glimmer.

Before sunrise, the adventurous morning trip takes place: still in the dark of the night,the panoramic cabin cable car effortlessly rises to more than 900m altitude, and after disembarking, is followed by an hour’s foot march. It’s worth it, because on the summitthe valleys and mountains expand like a co-lossal cinema screen offering a 360° prospect.The sunrise viewing tour takes place from the middle of June to the middle of September, subject to the weather conditions.

Der neu angelegte Lehrpfad führt Sie ent-lang des Weges nr. 1 von Schmieden zum Pragser Wildsee. Der Themenweg „Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell“ ist gut beschildert und leicht begehbar. Am Weg entlang finden Sie immer wieder Informationstafeln, die das Leben von Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell und seine erstbesteigungen beschreiben. ViktorWolf edler von Glanvell wird am 4.9.1871 inKlagenfurt geboren. Im Sommer 1885 kommt er zum ersten Mal als Schüler mit seinen eltern in die Pragser Dolomiten. Mit 18 Jahren verfasst Wolf-Glanvell den ersten „Führer durch die Pragser Dolomiten“, der im Jahre 1890 erscheint.Wolf-Glanvell besteigt in den Pragser Dolo-miten bis zum Jahre 1891 mehr als 60 Gipfel, Grate und Wände. Zu seinen bergsteigeri-schen Meisterleistungen zählen neben der erstbegehung der Herrsteinturm-Südwand, jene des col da Ricegon-nordgipfels und der Seekofel-nordwand. Am 07. Mai 1905 stürzt der damals erst 33-jährige in einer Dreier-Seilschaft von der Fölzstein-Südostwand in der Hochschabgruppe (Steiermark) tödlich ab. Seinem Wunsch zufolge, wird der Leich-nam nach St. Veit im Pragsertal überführt, um dort mit Blick auf den Herrsteinturm und die Seekofel-nordwand bestattet zu werden.

Il nuovo percorso didattico segue il sentiero n. 1 da Ferrara fino al Lago di Braies. „Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell“ è un sentiero tema-tico ben segnalato e facilmente percorribile, costellato da tutta una serie di tavole informa-tive con cenni biografici sulla vita di Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell e la descrizione delle sue scalate in prima assoluta. Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell nacque a Klagenfurt il 4 set-tembre 1871 e già nell’estate 1885 – ancora scolaro – venne per la prima volta con i suoi genitori nelle Dolomiti di Braies, delle quali, appena diciottenne, scrisse la prima guida, pubblicata nel 1890.Fino al 1891 Wolf-Glanvell aveva già scalato oltre 60 vette, creste e pareti delle Dolomiti di Braies. Tra le sue imprese più importanti spiccano, oltre alla prima scalata della parete sud della Torre del Signore, anche quelle della cima nord del col da Ricegon e della parete nord della croda del Becco. A soli 33 anni, il 7 maggio 1905, precipitò insieme ai suoi compagni di cordata dalla parete sudest del Fölzstein nel massiccio dell’Hochschwab (Stiria). come da lui richiesto, la sua salma venne trasportata a S. Vito in Valle di Braies per esservi sepolta con lo sguardo rivolto alla Torre del Signore e alla parete nord della croda del Becco.

The “Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell” theme trail is well sign-posted and easily accessible. Along the trail you will find information boards de-scribing the life and pioneering mountain as-cents of Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell. Viktor Wolf edler von Glanvell was born in Klagen-furt (Austria) on 4.9.1871. As a schoolboy in the summer of 1885, he visited the Dolomiti di Braies/Pragser Dolomiten for the first time with his parents. At 18 Wolf-Glanvell wrote the first “Guide to the Dolomiti di Braies”, which appeared in 1890. By 1891, Wolf-Glanvell had managed to climb more than 60 peaks, ridges and rock-faces in the Dolomiti di Braies. His mountaineering feats include the first suc-cessful ascent of the south wall of the Torre del Signore/Herrsteinturm mountain, as wellas the climbing of the northern summit of the colda Ricegon, and the northern face of the croda del Becco/Seekofel mountain. on 7th May 1905,at the age of just 33, he was part of a team of three roped climbers who fell to their deaths from the south-eastern face of the Fölzstein mountain in the Hochschwab range (Styria, A).In accordance with his wishes, his body was taken to San Vito/St. Veit in the Braies valley, to be buried in view of the Torre del Signore and northern face of the croda del Becco.

ein reiches Angebot von Klettermöglich-keiten gibt es im Hochpustertal nicht nur un-ter freiem Himmel sondern auch in der Halle: Das Prunkstück der Sportanlagen in Sexten ist die gewaltige Holz-Glaskonstruktion „Dolomit Arena“, die mit 16,5 Metern eine der höchsten Indoor-Kletteranlagen Italiens ist. Auf 500 m² gibt es ca. 45 Routen von 3° bis 8b+, die laufend verändert werden. Die Verglasung beidseitig der Anlage vermittelt das Gefühl des Kletterns im Freien. Deshalb ist die Halle nicht nur für Kletterspezialisten eine Herausforderung, sondern auch atem-beraubend für die Zuschauer. Auch ein großer Boulderraum ist vorhanden und Leihausrüstung sowie Kletterkurse werden ebenfalls angeboten.

Le ampie vetrate late-rali della struttura fanno sentire gli sportivi inseriti in un’ambiente naturale. Per questo motivo la palestra non solo costituisce una sfida per gli specialisti dell’arrampicata, ma rappresenta anche un’esperienza unica per gli spettatori. Un’ampia zona boulder, noleg-gio attrezzature nonché corsi di arrampicata completano l’offerta.

A prolific offer of a multiplicity of climb-ing possibilities is available not only under the open skies, but also in climbing halls. The centrepiece of the Sesto sports facility is the colossal wood and glass structure towering at 16, 5 metres and is the highest indoor climb-ing hall in Italy. At an altitude of 500m, there are an estimated 45 routes with intermittent changes and range from 3° to 8°+. The ambi-lateral glazing of the facility gives the feeling of climbing out of doors. Therefore, not only does the climbing hall present challenges to the experts, but is also awe-inspiring for the spectator. A huge bouldering hall is on hand and climbing courses are available as well as the hire of equipment.

Kletterhalle Toblach Das Langlaufstadion in Toblach wurde

auf den Winter 2009/10 fertig gestellt. neben einem Restaurantbereich, Toiletten, Duschen, Umkleidekabinen und einem Rad- und Skiverleih ist hier auch eine Kletterhalle entstanden. es handelt sich dabei um die größte Kletterhalle Italiens mit einer Höhe von 23 Metern. Routen mit den verschiedensten Schwierigkeits- graden und ein Boulderraum stehen zu Ihrer Verfügung.

Palestra di roccia di Dobbiaco nella stagione invernale 2009/10 è

stato ultimato a Dobbiaco lo stadio del fondo, che comprende anche una pale-stra di roccia, oltre a un bar/ristorante, servizi igienici, docce, spogliatoi e no-leggio biciclette e sci. Si tratta della più grande palestra di roccia dell’Italia, che offre itinerari con le più svariate scale di difficoltà oltre ad un’area boulder.

stadium centre in Dobbiaco was complet-ed in winter 2009/10. The ablutions and dressing rooms are located next to the restaurant area, which also houses a ski hire convenience store and incorporate one of the largest indoor climbing facil-ity in the country with climbing routes offering various degrees of difficulty and includes bouldering.

In the tracks of the most famous Alpine mountaineers: In the Dolomites, you ex-pect the best clambering and precipitous track routes. On the other hand, one does not have to confront a steep rock face at first. In the climbing gardens and centres located in the Alta Pusteria/Hochpuster-tal, the inexperienced can train to build upon their strength and endurance.

Der Stoneman-Trail von MTB-Profi Roland Stauder ins Leben gerufen, ist eine neue, mit „Stanemandlan“ / „Stein-männchen“ markierte Strecke in den DOLOMITEN. Hier handelt es sich nicht um ein Rennen, sondern nur um die Herausforderung eines zu schaffen, mit Lei-denschaft einen Traum zu verwirklichen. Mit einem STeMPeLARMBAnD versehen können Radbegeisterte zur unvergessli-chen Biketour in Sexten, dem Dorf der Drei Zinnen, aufbrechen um die vorgegebenen Abschnitte zu befahren. An 4 verschiede-nen Stempelstellen können die Biker den wohlverdienten Stempelabdruck holen und entscheiden wie viele Teilstücke sie am Tag befahren wollen oder können. Je nach gefahrener Strecke gibt es für die Teilneh-mer eine heiß begehrte Stoneman-Trophae zu gewinnen.

A seconda delle tappe percorse, c’è la possibilità di vincere una delle ambitissime coppe “Stoneman”.

The STONEMAN-TRAIL of the MTB which was brought to life by the professional cyclist Roland Stauder, the route in the Dolomites was signposted as; “Steinmännchen” or “Stane-mandlan“ as referred to in South Tyrolean dialect. It does not deal with a race here, but rather to accomplish a challenge with passion and to fulfil a dream.

With a provided armband for stamping, biking enthusiasts can enjoy an unforgetta-ble bike tour in Sesto, and cyclists are per-mitted to break away from the predetermined sections. At the 4 stamping places, the bikers can collect a well deserved stamp and decide on which sections they wish to participate in or cope with in one day. After every com-pleted stretch, the participants will receive a highly sought after Stoneman award.

Riservata invece agli »investigatori in erba«, la giornata trascorsa a studiare le tracce lasciate … dalla natura, con passeggiate lungo boschi, prati e campi …

Kinderspielplätze Für Familien bietet das Hochpus-

tertal das schönste und beste Freizeit-programm: die natur. Die Spielplätze „Burg“ in Innichen, „Grieswaldile“ und die „Wald-Wunder-Welt“ mit dem Baum-dorf und dem keltischen Baumhoroskop in Toblach und Kurpark in niederdorf zählen zu den größten und attraktivsten Kinderspielplätzen Südtirols. Sandkasten mit Bagger, Rutschen verschiedener Größen, Spielburg, Kletterpyramide, nestschaukel, Seilbahn, Schaukeln, Wippen, Karussell, Kletterburg und vieles mehr… Kinder allen Alters finden die entsprechenden Spiele. nicht zu vergessen das Abenteuerland in niederdorf für Kinder über 12 Jahren. Parchi giochi non c’è niente di più bello che divertirsi

nella natura! oltre all’intrattenimento organizzato, l’Alta Pusteria mette a disposizione ben 17 parchi giochi. Molto grandi i parchi "castello" a San candido, il parco "Grieswaldile" e il "Mondo Ma-gico delle Foresta" con il villaggio degli alberi e l’oroscopo celtico a Dobbiaco e quello di Villabassa, il Kurpark, parco sto-rico all’interno del quale è stata allestita un’area con dondoli, altalene, scivoli, un mini escavatore per giocare con la sabbia, una piramide per gli scalatori in erba, e per i piccoli »Indiana Jones« un »paese delle avventure«, provvisto di liane, case sugli alberi ed un ponte sospeso sul fiume Rienza. Altri parchi giochi ovviamente anche a Sesto, San candido, Dobbiaco, Villabassa e Braies.

Fabel- & Märchenweg Schon seit vielen Jahren werden in

Sexten Sagen und Geschichten rund um das Sextner Tal und das Hochpustertal erzählt und weitergegeben. nun entstand aus dieser Vielzahl an Märchen und Ge-schichten ein eigener Fabelweg in Sexten. Figuren aus den verschiedensten Sagen sind entlang des Weges aufgestellt und gewähren den Besuchern einen einblick in eine andere Welt.Von Sexten ausgehend über den Besinnungs- weg erreicht man den abenteuerlichen Fabelweg, welcher sein Ziel an der Jäger-hütte findet, in einer Gehzeit von ca. 2,5 Std. Für weniger geübte Wanderer kann der Fabelweg auch ausgehend von der Helm-Bergstation talabwärts erreicht werden.

Sono ormai molti anni che a Sesto si raccontano e si tramandano leggende sull’omonima valle e sull’Alta Pusteria. ora, sulla scia delle tante favole e storie, è stato realizzato a Sesto uno specifico sentiero tematico. Lungo il suo percorso sono disposte le figure delle più svariate leggende che per un po’ vi trasporteranno in un altro mondo.Partendo da Sesto e percorrendo il sen-tiero di meditazione si raggiunge l’avven-turoso itinerario delle favole e, dopo ca. 2,5 ore di cammino, la sua meta, la baita del cacciatore. Gli escursionisti meno allenati possono raggiungere il sentiero delle favole anche in discesa, partendo dalla stazione a monte della Funivia del Monte elmo.

Fable & fairytale path For many years, all sorts of legends

and stories surrounding the Val di Sesto/Sextental and Alta Pusteria/Hochpustertal valleys have been recounted and passed down in Sesto/Sexten. Drawing on this multitude of stories, the village of Sesto has now developed its own special “Fable Path”. Figures from the various different legends have been positioned along the path, giving visitors an insight into an-other world.Starting in Sesto, you will reach the spell-binding Fable Path via the contemplation Path. It ends at the Jägerhütte hunter’s refuge, after a further approx. 2.5 hours’ walk. Less experienced walkers can reach the Fable Path heading downhill from the Monte elmo/Helm mountain station.

Sie sind vor 8 Jahren aus dem hohen norden Finnlands hierher gekommen und haben in der ge-sunden Bergluft der Sextner Dolomiten ihren Bestand verdoppelt. einmal wö-chentlich können Kinder im Sommer bei der Rentierfütterung dabei sein und die außergewöhnlichen Tiere selbst füttern.

Italia vivono a circa 2000 m di altitudine sui Prati di croda Rossa di Sesto. Prove-nienti dalla lontana Finlandia, sono state portate qui ormai otto anni fa e, grazie alla salutare aria delle Dolomiti di Sesto, il numero dei loro esemplari è raddop-piato. Una volta alla settimana i bambini possono assistere al pasto delle renne e dar loro da mangiare essi stessi.

deer in Italy lives at almost 2000 m above sea level on the meadows of the croda Rossa/Sexten Rotwand mountain. They arrived here 8 years ago from the far north of Finland, and have now doubled in number in the healthy mountain air of the Sexten Dolomites. once a week in summer, children can watch and even help as these unusual animals are fed.

In this pavilion-like wooden building, several people at once can experi-ence the beneficial effect that salt can have on the respiratory system. Salt-saturated water trickles through twigs of mountain pine and hawthorn, to be atomised by their fine needles and thorns into tiny droplets. Breathing in air saturated with droplets of saltwater is supposed to be very good for asthmatics and others prone to respira-tory illnesses. And even your soul will draw strength from the peace and quiet within the salt graduator.To round off the experience, you can also drink from the spring from which the "fons salutis" mineral water of Bagni Piandimáia/Bad Maistatt flows.

Die Mineralwässer in Innichen

Der Geschichtsschreiber Josephus Plaseller sagt über diese Quellen: "natura in valle foro Inticae vicina aquis soteriis provocandis pro-digior erat quam in aliis locis." Auf deutsch: "In dem Tal nahe dem Dorf Innichen" - die ältesten Urkunden nennen es es Intiha - "war die natur freigiebiger als anderswo, da sie hier Heilquellen hervorgebracht hat."Damit beschreibt und definiert er genau die therapeutische Wirksamkeit der Innichner Mineralquellen. Sie waren schon in der vorrömi-schen und römischen Zeit bekannt und beliebt. Im Jahre 1962 wurde das Wasser der fünf Mineralquellen von Innichen nochmals analysiert. Schon die ersten Analysen bestätigten, dass es bakteriologisch rein ist. Beim Wildbad Innichen wurde ein Park einge-richtet, in dem drei Brunnen wieder aktiviert wurden, und zwar das Wasser „candida“, das „Laxierwasser“ und das Wasser „Lavaredo“.

In italiano: “nella valle attigua al paese di S. candido” – nei primi documenti viene definito Intiha – “la natura è stata più prodiga che altrove, avendola dotata di sorgenti dalle acque curative”. con queste parole egli descrive in modo preciso l’efficacia terapeutica delle acque minerali di S. candido, conosciute e ambite già in epoca preromana e romana. nel 1962 l’acqua delle cinque sorgenti di San candido venne sottoposta a nuove analisi, che confermarono – fin da subito – la sua purezza batteriologica. Presso i Bagni di San candido è stato realizzato un parco con la riattivazione di tre fontane dalle quali sgorgano le acque “candida”, “lassativa” e “Lavaredo”.

In english it goes something likethis: “In the valley near the village of Innichen” -the oldest documented references are to “Intiha”, which later became “Intica” – “naturewas richer than elsewhere, thanks to the presenceof healing waters.” This description is a clearreference to the therapeutic effectiveness ofthe mineral waters of San candido. They were well-known and popular even in Roman and pre-Roman times. In 1962, the water of the five mineral springs of San candido was ana-lysed again. The very first results confirmed that it is free of bacteria. A park has been created at the Bagni di San candido/Wildbad Innichen thermal spa, in which three springs have been re-activated – with “candida” wa-ter, “laxative” water and “Lavaredo” water.

Il „Sentiero delle sorgenti“ (parte del sen-tiero n. 37) è ben segnalato e facilmente percorribile. Lungo il percorso troveretediverse tavole illustrative che informano sulla flora e fauna sorgentizie, sulla tutela e l’utilizzo delle sorgive, sul ciclo dell’acqua e le zone protette.

The laid out path will lead you to the unspoilt parts of the nature reserve Fanes-Sennes-Prags where you will find yourself amidst the most fascinating springheads to be sited in the country.

“The Springhead” (Part of route 37) is well sign-posted and easily accessible. Along the way, notice boards have been placed at in-tervals with references to the local flora and fauna, springhead protection and utilisation, water circulation and information about the protected areas.

Bereits seit 2 Jahren können Gäste nicht nur klimafreundliche, sondern sogar klima-neutrale Urlaubstage in Toblach verbringen. Der Tourismusverein Toblach hat in Zusam-menarbeit mit dem Unternehmen climate-Partner einen emissionsrechner entwickelt, der in der Lage ist die entsprechende co2-Menge für die Urlaubsreise auszuweisen. Ist die co2-Menge ermittelt, so kann der Gast entscheiden, ob er diese co2-emissionen ausgleichen möchte, d.h. klimaneutral stellen möchte. In Höhe des ermittelten co2- Werts werden emissionsminderungszertifikate aus einem Klimaschutzprojekt - dem Fernheiz-kraftwerk Toblach – Innichen gekauft und anschließend gelöscht. Die Kosten dafür übernimmt der Tourismusverein Toblach. Der Gast erhält als Bestätigung und als erinnerung an den klimaneutralen Urlaub ein Zertifikat.

A metà settembre San candido, una delle borgate più antiche dell’Alto Adige, celebra la tradizione contadina con un progetto impegnativo e innovativo. Die Geschichte des 1. Weltkrieges auf der Rotwand ist die Geschichte von erstaunlichen Bauten, wie Lager, Stellungen, Schützen-gräben und Galerien auf bis dahin unbe-rührten Gipfeln. Es ist jedoch auch die Geschichte von Soldaten, die der Höhenlage, der Kälte, den Lawinen, den Versorgungs-schwierigkeiten und der Einsamkeit trotzten. Der historische Verein Bellum Aquilarum onLUS aus Sexten will die noch vorhandenen Zeugnisse und Relikte vor dem Vergessen retten; die von den gegnerischen Heeren er-bauten Wege und Gräben werden zu einem großen Freilichtmuseum. Wichtige Stellungen und Verbindungswege werden restauriert und ein Informationssystem für den Besucher aufgebaut. Die Realisierung des Freilichtmu-seums auf der Rotwand ist eine Aktion zur erinnerung an das kriegerische europa des letzten Jahrhunderts und ein Appell an die gemeinsame Zukunft.

The Monte Piana was a strategic posi-tion from the first great war (1915-1918), where 14.000 soldiers (Italians and Aus-trians) lose their's life. The track on the Monte Piana comprehends emplacements of bombs, dugouts and galleries.

La storia della Grande Guerra sulla Croda Rossa è una storia di opere e di eventi incre-dibili e di soldati che sfidarono l’altitudine, il freddo, le valanghe e la solitudine. Furono costruite strade, teleferiche, magazzini, po-stazioni, camminamenti e gallerie su vette inviolate e dirupi inaccessibili.L'associazione onLUS Bellum Aquilarum di Sesto vuole salvare dall’oblio le testimonianze che sono rimaste: I sentieri e camminamenti costruiti dagli eserciti contrapposti e i percorsi di collegamento tra postazioni significative diventano un grande Museo all’aperto.

The history of the Great War on the Croda Rossa is a story of incredible feats and events: the austro-hungarian and Italian soldiers on both sides braved the altitude, the cold, the avalanches and the solitude. Roads, cableways, storage depots, emplacements, communication trenches and tun-nels were constructed on untouched peaks. The Bellum Aquilarum Project is aimed at saving this testimony, which has remainded: The pathways and communication trenches constructed by the opposing armies got to be a sizeable open air museum.

Gustav Mahler composed two of his major works in Toblach, which will open the South Tyrol Festival every year: ‘Das Lied von der erde’ and the 9th Symphony. In addition to Mahler’s music there will be presented music by contemporary composers, Richard Strauss - Mahlers musical counterpart - and his "Alpensymphonie" and the world of the Bel canto, where the dramatic art of the voice coincides with the melody of the or-chestra.

August ein speziell konzipiertes Astronomieseminar. nach der Präsentation gibt es bei klarem Wetter die Möglichkeit mit Hilfe eines Teleskops ein-zelne (Sternen-) elemente des traumhaften Pustertaler Abendhimmels etwas genauer unter die Lupe zu nehmen. nach dem offi-ziellen Programm laden wir Sie herzlich ein, in uriger Atmosphäre und bei einem Glas Wein oder selbstgemachten Holundersirup gemeinsam mit dem Referenten über die gelösten und ungelösten Fragen des Univer-sums zu sinnieren. Zum Abschied erhalten Sie ein kleines astronomisches Präsent, welches Sie immer an dieses besondere erlebnis erinnern wird.

1st astronomy week in the Alta Pusteria/Hochpustertal valley

nell’ agosto 2011 il Mittersteinerhof orga-nizzerà la prima settimana dell’astronomia in Alta Pusteria, in collaborazione con Volker Hoffmann, laureato in fisica e astronomia. In occasione di quattro seminari diversi verranno svelati ai partecipanti in modo semplice e interessante i segreti dell’universo. Per la più giovane generazione di futuri astronomi il 5 agosto è previsto un seminario specifico dedicato all’astronomia durante il quale, dopo una presentazione introduttiva, in caso di cielo sereno, sarà possibile osservare i singoli corpi celesti del meraviglioso firma-mento notturno dell’Alta Pusteria con l’aiuto di un telescopio. Terminato il programma ufficiale i nostri ospiti saranno invitati a ri-flettere insieme ai relatori sulle questioni risolte e irrisolte dell’universo, accompagnati da un’atmosfera tipica e da un bicchiere di vino o di succo di sambuco artigianale. Alla fine vi verrà consegnato un piccolo omaggio astronomico come ricordo di questa serata speciale.

In cooperation with the qualified physi-cist and astronomer Volker Hoffmann, the Mittersteinerhof in the Alta Pusteria/Hoch-pustertal valley is to organise the first Val Pusteria Astronomy Week in August 2011. Four different seminars will give partici-pants an easily comprehensible and thrilling insight into the secrets of the universe. on 5th August there will be a special astronomy seminar for the younger generation of future space scientists. If the weather is clear, there will be the opportunity after the presenta-tion to take a closer look at individual (star) elements of the fantastic night sky above Val Pusteria with the help of a telescope. After the official part of the programme, you are welcome to sit in a cosy atmosphere, pon-dering the solved and unsolved mysteries of the universe with the speaker over a leisure-ly glass of wine or home-made elderberry syrup. To round off the evening you will re-ceive a small astronomic gift that will always remind you of this special experience.
