BEEINDRUCKENDE ANSICHTENVor 22.000 Jahren war das Salzachtal vom mächtigen Salzachgletscher erfüllt, der im Gebiet St. Koloman bis auf eine Höhe von ca. 1.500 m reichte. Das heutige Areal des Gletscherschliffes war damals von ca. 700 m Eis bedeckt, welches sich über den Felsuntergrund hinweg bewegte. Dabei wurde dieser abgeschürft, glatt geho-belt und durch eine natürliche „Schleifpaste“ aus Sand, Schluff, Ton und Wasser mit einer Glanzpolitur versehen.

AUSTRIAS LARGEST ALP-AREA The Postalm Alp easily can be reached on a beautiful mountain road coming from Abtenau or Strobl which takes you directly to one of the most fascinating Alp and hiking paradises of Austria. It is a terrifi c location that also connects the Lammer-tal valley and the Salzkammergut. You will spend a few delightful and relaxing hours in fresh mountain air on a scenic walk through the magnifi cent alpine pas-tures. The Postalm mountain road is open all year round except for road closures, forest work, road construction work and avalanche danger etc.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!First the cable car “Karkogelbahn” takes you comfortably to the top station. Then it’s time to just sit on the toboggan and off you go on a rapid descent into the valley on the exciting summer toboggan run – it‘s pure fun! If you like it less risky, sim-ply take the cable car back into the valley. Enjoy the panoramic view of the mighty mountains and the fresh air on the top of the “Karkogel” – this is an unique expe-rience - even if you choose not to ride down a toboggan the track. IMPRESSIVE GLACIAL POLISH22.000 years ago the Salzachtal valley was covered with glacier. In the St. Koloman region the glacier even was 1.500 metres in height. At that time the area of the today‘s visible glacial polish was covered by a 700 metres ice crust, which slowly mo-ved over the subsoil rocks. The ice crust scrapped off, shaped and polished the rocks. Nature produced a special “polish paste” consisting of sand, silt, clay and water.

SALZBURG‘ S LONGEST TOBOGGAN RUNOnly a few minutes away from the city of Salzburg, the 2,2 km long summer toboggan run “the Keltenblitz” attracts many visitors. Enjoy the magnifi cent Zinkenkogel panorama, reaching from the close Untersberg mountain range to the far distanced Dachstein glaciers. To reach the toboggan starting point, visitors either take the double chair lift or follow the hiking trail to the top. The “Keltenblitz” or the double chair lift will then bring you safely back to the valley.

DER WELTBERÜHMTE MARMOR AUS ADNETSeit zweitausend Jahren wird der Adneter Marmor für Bau- und Kunstwerke verarbeitet. Im Museum gewinnen Sie einen Einblick über die Entstehung, den Abbau und die wertvollen Kunstschätze des faszinierenden roten Gesteins. Von Adnet aus führt Sie weiters ein Marmorweg durch die Steinbrüche und ver-mittelt Ihnen einen Eindruck über den mühsamen Abbau damals und heute. KUCHLS GESCHICHTEInformationen und archäologische Exponate zur regionalen Geschichte von der Jungsteinzeit bis in die Neuzeit mit Schwerpunkt Hl. Severin in Cucullis (Kuchl) und Römerzeit. Kopie der Tabula Peutingeriana in Originalgröße. Die Entwicklung des heutigen Ortes vom Frühmittelalter bis zur Neuzeit bildet den zweiten Teil der Dauerausstellung. Sonderausstellungen 2019: 5.5.-27.10.: Worauf wir stehen - Funde aus Kuchl, bisherige archäologische Grabungsgeschichte und aktuelle Aktivitäten und Forschungen im Kuchler Raum.

SALZWELTEN HALLEIN UND KELTENDORF SALINA Im ältesten Besucherbergwerk der Welt, tauchen Sie ein in die über 2.500-jährige Geschichte des Salzes, dem „Weißen Gold“ früherer Jahrhunder-te. Sie folgen den Spuren der Kelten, die hier bereits seit 400 v. Chr. Salz abbau-ten. Sie entdecken die geheimnisvolle Welt der Bergmänner, die kilometerlange Stollenlabyrinthe in den Berg schlugen. Das neugestaltete Keltendorf „SALINA“ sowie das Keltenmuseum in Hallein können mit dem Salzwelten-Ticket kostenlos besucht werden.

DAS MUSEUM BURG GOLLINGsetzt heuer die Jagdausstellung von 2018 fort, jedoch mit etwas anderer Schwerpunkt-setzung und zahlreichen neuen, erstklassigen Objekten. Im 500. Todesjahr von Kaiser Maximilian I. wird an diesen „ersten großen Jäger“ und seine Zeit erinnert. Die jüngeren Besucher können Tierstimmen und Fährten erraten und sich auf die Su-che nach Fabeltieren begeben. Ein begehbarer Hochstand sorgt für den nötigen Über-blick. THE WORLD FAMOUS MARBLE FROM ADNETFor two thousand years, Adnet marble has been used for building as well as to produce fabulous works of art. This museum provides insights into the genesis of marble, how it is quarried, and the precious treasures which have been created out of this fascinating red rock. Setting out from Adnet, a marble theme path also leads you out past the quarries, gi-ving you a true sense of the arduous work required to extract it from the ground, both then and now. THE SALT MINE HALLEIN AND CELTIC VILLAGE SALINADive into the more than 2.500 years old world of the “White Gold” that marked Salzburg and its history for centuries. Follow the trails of the Celts who were mining salt in this area already in 400 B.C. Discover the mysterious world of the miners who did their construction work with high precision and built miles long salt labyrinths directly into the mountains. THE GOLLING FORTRESS MUSEUMThe “Hunting Exhibition 2018” is continued, but this year with a slightly different focus and many new intriguing objects. On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Maximilian I‘ s death, the museum shows an exhibition commemorating the “First Big Hunter” and his time. THE POWER OF WATERThe “Mühlenrundweg” is a circular walk suitable for all the family. It leads along the wild and romantic Schwarzenbach river to the historic corn mill at the imposing Schwarzenbachfall waterfall. The viewpoint “Schröck” gives visitors an unique opportunity to enjoy the panoramic view over the Salzburg mountain scenery. Plan your hiking tours for either the autumn or the spring season because then you will fi nd the alpine fl owers blooming. In the summer time about 450 cows and horses are put out to pasture the Trattberg Alp. Chalets in rustic style give visitors shelter at any time.

DEM KOMPONISTEN BEGEGNEN: FRANZ XAVER GRUBERIn wunderschöner Atmosphäre wird das Leben des Komponisten von „Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!“, Franz Xaver Gruber, präsentiert. In den Räumen des Museums, des ehemaligen Mesner- und Chorregentenhauses, lebte und arbeitete Gruber 28 Jahre lang. Im Mittelpunkt der Ausstellung steht die Entstehungs- und Verbreitungsge-schichte des Liedes. Zu sehen sind originale Einrichtungsgegenstände, Abschriften von „Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!“ und die Gitarre von Joseph Mohr, auf der das Lied im Jahr 1818 in Oberndorf zum ersten Mal gespielt wurde.

MEET THE COMPOSER: FRANZ XAVER GRUBERIn an entrancing atmosphere, the museum is presenting the life of the composer of “Silent Night! Holy Night!”, Franz Xaver Gruber. Gruber had lived and worked for 28 years on the premises of the museum, the former house of the sacristan and chorus master. The exhibition also focuses on the history of the origin and spreading fame of the christmas carol. On display are original furnishings from Gruber’s home, three autographs of the composition “Silent Night!” and the guitar that Joseph Mohr played in 1818 when he accompanied the carol at its fi rst performance in Oberndorf.
