Zauber Berge. Die Schweiz als Kraftraum und SanatoriumBanken und Berge, sichere Städte und pünktliche Züge gehören zum Image der Schweiz. Gesunde Luft und sauberes Wasser, Thermalbäder, Höhen-kurorte und natürliche Lebensmittel ebenfalls. Die Alpenmilch zum Beispiel oder das Birchermüesli. Die Ausstellung zeigt als Auftakt eine historische Stereoschau, ergründet den Ruf der Schweiz als Gesundheitsparadies und schlägt den Bogen von Albrecht von Hallers Alpengedicht zur Lebensre-formkolonie auf dem Monte Verità, zur Bircher-Benner-Klinik auf dem Zürichberg, zu den Höhenkliniken in Leysin und Davos, zur Ovomaltine und zur Monumentalskulptur der «Sonnenanbeterin» auf der Zürcher Landi-wiese. Überraschende Exponate werfen ein neues Licht auf die Schweizer Gesundheitslandschaft ausserhalb der Operationssäle.

Tout comme l’air salubre, l’eau propre, les stations thermales, les établissements de cure d’altitude et les aliments naturels tels que le lait des Alpes ou le birchermüesli. L’exposition, introduite par une présentation de photographies stéréoscopiques histo-riques, analyse la réputation de la Suisse de paradis de la santé et aborde des sujets aussi divers que le poème d’Albrecht von Haller dédié aux Alpes, le mouvement de réforme de la vie introduit par la colonie du Monte Verità, la clinique Bircher-Benner sur le Zurichberg, les cliniques d’altitude à Leysin et Davos, l’ovomaltine et la sculpture monumentale « L’adoratrice du soleil » sur le Landiwiese à Zurich. Des objets étonnants éclairent d’un jour nouveau le monde de la santé en Suisse hors des salles d’opération.

Zauber Berge. Switzerland as energy centre and sanatoriumBanks and snow-covered mountains, clean and well-lit streets, trains running on time – they all form part of Switzerland’s image, as well as healthy air and pure water, spas, mountain resorts and natural food such as Alpen milk or the famous Musli by Bircher. The exhibition dedicated to Switzerland’s reputation as a paradise of health opens up with a multivision show of historical 3-D photographs. Starting with Paracelsus’ theory of thermal waters and Albert von Haller’s «Ode to the Alps», it then leads visitors to historical key points such as the famous Monte Verita colony in Canton Ticino, the equally famous Bircher-Benner clinic in Zurich or the sanatoriums of Davos and Leysin. Hermann Haller’s sculpture «sun wor ship» points to the tract dedicated to health food. Did you know that the Swiss, besides inventing Ovaltine, once produced a popular herb mix called «Swiss tea»?
