Dear Parishioners: Some Great News!

This coming July, His Eminence, Stanley Cardinal Dziwisz, will be visiting the United States to seek support for the “Blessed John Paul II ‘Be Not Afraid’ Center” being built at the Divine Mercy Shrine in Krakόw, Poland. Cardinal Dziwisz is the former Personal Secretary to Blessed John Paul II and the present Cardinal Archbishop of Krakόw. Blessed John Paul II had such a strong impact on our youth and was the Pontiff to introduce the Divine Mercy devotion to the universal Catholic Church. This Cen-ter at the Divine Mercy Shrine will continue both Blessed John Paul II’s theological legacy and his out-reach to our world youth.

We were most happy to be informed that His Eminence will not only visit Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish on Thursday evening, July 5, 2012, but will present us with a first-class relic of Blessed John Paul II. This will take place at the 7:00 PM Mass that evening.

We are planning an event to celebrate this visit and also support the “Blessed John Paul II ‘Be Not Afraid’ Center’s” mission in Krakόw. We invite you to review the sponsorship material and ticket infor-mation asking you to seriously consider being a sponsor or taking an ad in the program journal to com-memorate this historic occasion. All money generated will be presented to Cardinal Dziwisz for the Blessed Pope John Paul II Center in Kraków.
