V on allen Dingen ist der mensch sich selbst am wichtigsten. Die Krone der schöpfung. selbstver-ständlich hatten auch wir bei der Gestaltung des nun vorliegenden

magazins nicht weniger beabsichtigt als den rich-tig großen Wurf zu landen und die Welt aus den angeln zu heben. hochmut kommt bekanntlich vor dem Fall. Doch mit unserer selbstgewissheit und der Gier nach dem monumentalen sind wir ganz und gar nicht allein. aus genau diesem streben heraus entstehen die ungewöhnlichen momente, Dinge, Geschöpfe, Bauwerke und Visionen, die aus menschen etwas Besonderes machen.

In jeder ausgabe wollen wir uns daher einem dieser scheinbar ausschließlich menschlichen charakterzüge annähern und die höhepunkte seiner auswirkungen und Fragwürdigkeiten be-trachten. Je maßloser die ereignisse, umso leich-ter lässt sich das zentrum unserer kollektiven Per-sönlichkeit umkreisen. In unserer ersten ausgabe »zucht und Ordnung« widmen wir uns deshalb dem unaufhaltbaren Drang des menschen, sich selbst, andere, die natur und den Kosmos beherrschen zu wollen. Dabei geht es nicht darum die sensati-onslust im Kuriositätenkabinett zu stillen, sondern vielmehr Fragen zur eigenen Identität aufzuwerfen und die Begegnung mit der eigenen Person zu er-möglichen. Dazu betrachten wir zunächst, wie man dank molekularbiologie den Geist vom muskelberg trennt und wie schwierig es ist, tatsächlich frei zu sein. In unserer auslandsreportage verhüllen wir dann den rest der Welt und betrachten sie aus der einzig wahren Perspektive — dem zugfenster. ●

O f all things, man himself is most impor-tant. The crown of creation. Of course, we had in the design of this magazine now intends nothing less than the really big throw to land and lift the world off its hinges. Pride goeth before the fall is known. But with our self-confidence and the desire for the monumental, we are not at all alone. For precisely this effort will come the unusual moments, things, creatures, buildings and visions that make people special.

In each issue we want to approach us so one of these apparently exclusi-vely human traits and look at the high-lights of his effects and questionable. The more indulgent the events, the ea-sier it is orbiting the center of our coll-ective personality. In our first issue, we dedicate ourselves why the unstoppa-ble urge the people themselves, others, who want to dominate nature and the cosmos. It's not about raising the sensationalism in the cabinet of curiosi-ties to breastfeed, but questions about their own identity and to allow the en-counter with oneself. For this purpose we first consider how to separate the spirit from the muscle thanks to mole-cular biology mountain and how difficult it is to be actually free. In our foreign re-port we will cover the rest of the world and look out the only true perspective — the train window. ●
