II. Dearness Allowance

In addition to the basic wages shown abcrve the l?iecc rate and daily ratedworkers except workers engaged for loading the bundlles tx vchic le are eligiblefor Dearness Allowance at the rate of 90 pai,se (ninety paisc) and Rs. 23.40(Rupees twenty three and forty paise) ftrr the monthly ratccJ workers for theincrease of every one point above the 130 polnt of neu"series ol" Clonsumer Price.fndex Nurnber 1998-99:i00 being publislred di.strict wrse by t]re Iii:onomics andStatrstics Department of the Gove:rnment of I(erala.

For Idukki and Wayanad District Hcadquart{irs, Dearness Allowanceshall be paid on tfle basis of the Clonsumcr Price Index Nurnber publishedfbr Munnar and M.eppadi centres respcctively.

IIL Special Wage Rates

If an-v- work other than those incl*ded in the i$chedule abc've has to bedone, fhe rates as agreed in the contraci arrived by tire crnployer ii,rcl employecin that particular areallocality shall be paid.

IV" tsrotecticin for Highcr Wages

In case the emplolees of any establrshmentilndustry arc at presentgetting trigher wages than the minimum wages fixed as per this notifr,c:ation, theyshall be entitled to get such higher rates.

V. The daily rate irr respect of the category of ernployees ior wtrorn monthlyrate is fixed in thrs Schedule may be calculated by dividing thc rnontlrly rate by26 and the monthly rate in respect of those for whom claily rate is fixt:d may becalculated by multiplying tbe daily rate by 26.
