Die Altstadt aus dem 16.Ja-hrhundert weist zahlreiche gut erhaltene Bauten und Monumente auf. Auf der Piazza Malvezzi steht der Palast der ehe-maligen Stadtverwaltung von Venetien, ein unvollen-detes Werk des Architekten Todeschini, mitten auf dem Platz erhebt sich das der Schutzheiligen S. Angela Me-rici gewidmete Monument. Auf der Piazza Cappelletti ist ein Monument den Märt-yrern der Widerstandsbewe-gung gewidmet, die Piazza Matteotti wird von dem Mo-nument beherrscht, das der ‚Alta velocità‘ gewidmet ist. An der Seepromenade ist das Monument des Generals Achille Papa zu bewundern, ein Werk von Giancarlo Mo-roni (Architekt des Vittoriale), gegenüber erinnert das Mo-nument von Arnaldo Pomo-doro an die Gefallenen aller Kriege.

The old town centre whose origin is dated back to the 1500s, preserves numerous buildings and monuments. In Malvezzi plaza rises the Palace of the venetian su-perintendent which is an unfinished work of the ar-chitect Todeschini and the monument of the patron S.Angela Merici stands in the middle of it. In Cappel-letti plaza you can admire the monument dedicated to the martyrs of the resistan-ce, in Matteotti plaza there is the monument dedicated to High-speed department. The monument of Achille Pope General, which is a Giancarlo Moroni’s work (an architect of Vittoriale), is on the lakefront walk and in front of it stands the Arnal-do Pomodoro’s monument of all wars deads.

Auf den Resten eines früheren Kirchenbaus zwischen 1586 und 1611 errichtet, steht der Dom der Heiligen S. Maria Maddalena. Das Werk des Architekten Giu-lio Todeschini aus Brescia weist einen Grundriss mit drei Kirchenschiffen auf. Die Fassade im Barockstil aus dem Jahr 1702 erinnert stark an die Jesus Kirche in Rom. Im Innern des Doms – er gilt als eines der schönsten Beispiele der Spätrenaissance im Raum von Brescia – sind Gemälde von Andrea Celesti, Gian Battista Tiepolo, Giovanni Bertanza, Donato Zenone und Domenico Cignaroli aufbewahrt.

The three naves Duomo dedicated to S.Maria Maddalena was built by the native of Brescia architect Giulio Todeschini on a previous religious building between 1586 and 1611. The facade is dated back to 1702 of Baroque style and revokes the Jesus’ church of Rome. Inside of it are preserved the Andrea Celesti’s, Gian Battista Tiepolo’s, Giovanni Bertanza’s, Donato Zenone’s and Domenico Cignaroli’s paintings and it’s considered one of the most beautiful examples among those of the Renaissance of Brescia.

21921 entdeckt, gilt sie als das bedeutendste Zeugnis der großen “villae” aus der Spätantike, die in Nordita-lien zu finden sind. Die über eine Fläche von mehr als

240 qm ausgedehnten bunten Mosaikgestaltungen sind von hochwertiger Quali-tät. Man geht davon aus, dass der Besitzer der Bruder des Imperators Magnenzio, Flavius Magnus Decentius war, dem Desenzano seinen Namen verdankt.

Отсюда и произошло название го-рода – Дезенцано.

Came to light in 1921 is the most important nor-thern Italian testimony of Late Antique period big “villae” with its more than 240 sq.m of fine manifacture polychro-me mosaics. It is sup-posed that the owner was Flavius Magnus Decentius, emperor Ma-gnenzio’s brother and is where the name of De-senzano comes from.

Auf dem Hügel über Desenzano erhebt sich die Festung aus dem X. Jahrhundert. Von rechtecki-ger Form, mit einem Turm, der am Eingang auf der Nordseite der Zugbrücke Schutz bieten sollte, war die Festung als Zufluchtsstätte für die Bevölkerung bestimmt, wurde Ende des 19.Jahrhunderts bis 1943 zur Kaserne. In der heutigen renovierten Ge-staltung finden in den ehemaligen Offiziers Woh-nungen Ausstellungen, Fachtreffen und Seminare statt. Auf dem Rundgang der Schutzwache und hoch oben vom Eingangsturm kann man einen der schönsten Ausblicke auf den See genießen.

On the top of the hill which overlooks Desenzano rises the Castle dated back to the X century. It is square shaped and has a tower standing out at the entrance on the north side as a defence of the lift bridge, designated as a refuge for the population it became a barracks from the end of 1800 to 1943. It has been renovated and now the ex officials’ accomodations are locations for art exhibitions and conferences. From the castle walkways and the rise to the entrance dungeon you can admire one of the most beautiful view of the lake.

На вершине холма, возвышающегося над Дезен-цано, находится замок постройки X века. Он име-ет прямоугольную форму, а на северной стороне его возвышается башня, защищающая въездной подъёмный мост. Замок служил убежищем для населения, а с конца XIX века по 1943 год яв-лялся казармой. После реконструкции в замке расположились аппартаменты бывших военных, а также выставочные и конференц-залы. Под-нявшись по дозорной дорожке до сторожевой башни замка, вы сможете насладиться одним из самых красивых видов на озеро.

Das städtische Archäologie Musem von Desenzano wurde 1990 eingeweiht und nach Giovanni Rambotti benannt, der seit 1872 archäologische Funde aus der Bronzezeit gesammelt hatte, die an den Südufern des Sees entdeckt worden waren. Das Museum hat seinen Sitz im ehemaligen Kloster der Karmeliter Mön-che. Als wichtigstes Ausstellungsgut gilt ein fast vollständig erhaltener Pflug, der auf den Beginn der Bronzezeit (2.000 v.Chr.) zurückgeht und weltweit als ältester Fund dieser Art angesehen wird.

The civic Museum of Desenzano was inaugurated in 1990 and dedicated to Gio-vanni Rambotti who from 1872 collected prehistoric archeological artifacts of the Bronze Age found on the southern shores of the lake. The headquarters is inside the Carmelite friars ex monastery. The most important artifact is an almost entire plough dated back to the beginning of the Bronze age (2000 b.C.) which is consi-dered the most antique one in the world.

Vom “Porto Vecchio” ist bereits im Jahr 1274 die Rede, in der Epoche der Republik Venetien wurde er dank des wachsenden Getreidemarktes erheblich erweitert. Hinter dem Hafen erhe-ben sich die prächtigen Bögen des Palazzo Todeschini, das Gebäude – ein Projekt des gleichnamigen Architekten – diente als Gemeindeverwaltung. An der letzten Säule ist die Steinplatte der sogenannten “disoccupati” angebracht, sie war für Verstei-gerer und zum Konkurs verurteilte Unternehmer bestimmt.

There already was some talks back in 1274 about the “Porto Vecchio”, which was expanded in the Venetian Republic epoch thanks to the flourishing market of grains. Upon it are reflcted the arcades of Todeschini Palace, building designed to be the town hall by an architect of the same name. The curiosity about it is that there is the stone of “the unemployed” leaning again-st the last columnm, where the auctioneer and the bankrupt sentenced used to go up.Первые упоминания о Старом порте встречаются уже в 1274 г. Ebenfalls in der Altstadt der ‚Famedio’ und das Internationale Rote Kreuz Museum/Mezzaluna Rossa; in Castiglione wurde den Verwundeten der Schlacht von

Solferino erste Hilfe geleistet, und auf Initiative von Jean Henry Dunant wurde hier das Internationale Rote Kreuz gegründet.

Fortified town dominated by the tower, Cavriana hosted a small court “resort” Gonzaga. Geografisch gesehen ist Pozzo-lengo der letzte Ort der Provinz von Brescia, “eingekeilt” zwi-schen den Provinzen Mantua und Verona. Hier trug die Ei-senbahnstation “Ferdinandea” im 19. Jahrhundert den Namen des unweit gelegenen Ortes: Pozzolengo, der mit einer schönen mittelalterlichen, von runden Türmen geprägten Burg und einer Pfarrkirche aus dem 16. Jahrhundert gekennzeich-net ist; die Kirche wurde Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts erweitert und birgt wertvolle Gemälde.

Der Blick nach Norden lässt, einge-bettet in die üppige Vegetation der Hügellandschaft (von Napoleon III “le mamelone” genannt), den mitte-lalterlichen Wachtturm von Solferino erkennen, die sogenannte ‘Rocca’; der Ort ist auch bekannt für die glei-chnamige Schlacht, die hier 1859 zur Unabhängigkeit Italiens ausgetragen wurde und galt als “Spion Italiens” dank der militärisch strategischen Position, die man vom Gipfel des Hü-gels hatte (mit ihren 206 m ü.d.M. die größte Erhebung), der den Ort beherr-scht. Die Terrasse der Festungsanlage bietet ein 360° Panorama, das zu den schönsten Ausblicken Italiens gehört. Besonders interessant ist der obere Teil der kleinen Gemeinde mit der

Burg, errichtet von Orazio Gonzaga zwischen 1563 und 1585 und die wei-tläufige Panoramaterrasse zum See, sowie die San Nicola Kirche aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Im südöstlichen Teil der herrliche Wachtturm mit Spitzbo-genkuppel. Solferino birgt in Erinnerung an die Schlacht das Beinhaus der Gefalle-nen, das Museum ‘Museo del Risor-gimento’ und das Monument des Ro-ten Kreuzes, das 1959 zur Jahresfeier der Gründung dieser Einrichtung erri-chtet wurde. Der Ort ist das symbolische „Herz“ dieses Territoriums und Sitz des Fremdenverkehrsverbandes des Hü-gelgebietes “Colline Moreniche del Garda”.

Der 22,80 Meter hohe Turm erhebt sich auf dem höchsten Hügel von San Martino – Schauplatz der blutigsten Schlacht zwischen der sardischen Armee und den Soldaten des österreichischen Kaiserreiches. Man begann mit der Errichtung des Turms 1880 und am 15. Oktober 1893 wurde er dann im Beisein von König Umberto I, Königin Margherita, verschiedenen Ministern und einer riesigen Menge von Schaulusti-gen aus allen Provinzen Italiens eingeweiht. Zu Füßen des Turms liegt die Villa Contracagna, die am Tage der Schlacht sieben Angriffen der sardi-schen Armee gegen die österreichischen Truppen standhalten musste.

PADENGHE SUL GARDA

Mit ihren sieben herrlichen Schutzburgen zählt die Valtenesi zu einem der reizvollsten, großzügig be-grünten Gebieten des Gardasees auf der Brescianer Seite. Ihr elegantes, antikes Portal ist Padenghe, wo die reichen Familien in der Epoche der Reichsstadt von Mailand prächtige Villen errichteten und ausgedehnte Landgüter bewirtschafteten. Paden-ghe (Patingulae in der Antike) hat-

te einst einen bedeutenden Hafen. Die Burg, die sich stolz auf dem Hügel erhebt, geht auf das XI. Jahrhundert zurück und wurde in der Zeit der Kommu-nen um einen mächtigen Wachtturm am Eingang erweitert. Hier steht auch die kleine Kirche von San Emiliano aus dem XII. Jahrhundert, mit einem ein-zigen Raum und halbkreisförmiger Apsis, deren strenge Architektur nur von kleinen Einzelbogenfenstern aufgelockert wird. Valtenesi, with its seven magnificent castles, is one of the greenest and most picturesque areas of Lake Garda. Its elegant gateway is Padenghe, where rich families erected sumptuous villas and ran vast agricultural estates during the time of the Imperial Court of Milan. In ancient times, Padenghe (Patingulae) was an important port. Its castle high on the hill dates back to the 11th cen-tury and was enlarged with a gate tower during the city-states era. MONIGA DEL GARDA

Moniga del Garda, im Brescianer Dialekt Mùniga, ist ein Gemeindeort der Gardase-eküste der Brescianer Seite und wird auch “Stadt des Chiaretto” genannt, zu Ehren des typischen Chiaretto: ein Roséwein, der aus den Reben des Groppello durch eine besondere Rosé Gärung gewonnen wird und zu den ersten italienischen Wei-nen gehört, die am 21. Juli 1967 die DOC Bezeichnung des kontrollierten Ursprun-gs erhielten. Die Technik dieser Vinifizierung hat älteste Ursprünge und wurde bereits im XIX. Jahrhundert von dem venezianischen Senator Pompeo Molmenti kodifiziert, der in Moniga del Garda ein Gut mit Weinbergen besaß; im Jahre 1962 wurde diesem Wein von der Schutzgemeinschaft Consorzio Tutela Vini Bresciani ein detailliertes Regelwerk zugewiesen. Seit Juni 2008 wird in Moniga die nationale Ausstellung der Roséweine “Italia in Rosa” organisiert.

Moniga del Garda called Mùniga in Brescian dialect is a Garda lakeside mu-nicipality in Brescia nicknamed “Città del Chiaretto” (City of Chiaretto) in ho-nour of the typical Chiaretto wine with its shades of pink made from Grop-pello grapes through a special rosé fermentation process. Chiaretto was one of the first Italian wines to have been recognized by the protected designation of origin on July 21, 1967. The vinification technique, develo-ped in ancient times and codified in the 19th century by the Venetian sena-tor Pompeo Molmenti who had a home and vineyard in Moniga del Gar-da, received precise regulation in 1962 by the Brescian Wine Consortium. Since June 2008 Moniga has been the site of the “Italia in Rosa” (Italy in Pink) national festival of rosé wines.

San Felice del Benàco, or “San Filìs” in Brescian dialect, is a municipality established in 1928 with the union of the municipalities of Portese and San Felice di Scovolo on the western coast of Lake Garda, formerly known as Benàcus or Benàco. It is bordered on the south by Manerba, to the north by Salò, and to the West by Puegnago. The territory inclu-des the three small towns of San Felice, Portese, and Cisano and is a morainic promon-tory that juts out into Lake Garda between the Gulf of Salò and the Gulf of Manerba, boun-ded by Monte della Croce, Monte Campagnolo and Monte Santa Caterina. Polpenazze, Polpenàse in Brescianer Dialekt, wird von dem ersten Hinter-land der Westküste des Gardasees beherrscht. Das vorwiegend von Hügeln gekennzeichnete Gebiet ist vorrangig der Landwir-tschaft gewidmet und ei-gnet sich ausgezeichnet zum Weinbau und Olive-nanbau, Erzeugnisse, die das kulinarische Angebot des Gardaseegebietes als unbestrittene Protagoni-sten bestimmen. Haupt-sächlicher Weinstock ist der Groppello, gefolgt von Marzemino, San Giovese und Barbera. Polpenazze ist der wichtigste Ölerz-euger der Valtenesi und das Produkt wird dank seiner hervorragenden Eigenschaften zu einem der feinsten Erzeugnisse Norditaliens gezählt. Sehr bekannt ist auch Picedo, die größte Fraktion von Polpenazze del Garda. Und, zu guter Letzt, sollte man sich auf keinen Fall das Winzerfest entgehen las-sen, womit Polpenazze im Oktober seinen Wein ehrt.

Polpenazze, or Polpenàse in Brescian dialect, is enclo-sed in the inland of the we-stern shore of Lake Garda. It is characterized by hilly terrain and is therefore a purely agricultural area per-fect for viticulture and olive growing which are the star culinary products in the Gar-da region.The primary grape variety is Groppello, followed by Marzemino, SanGiovese and Barbera. Polpenazze is the largest producer of oil in the Valtenesi and thanks to its properties this pro-duct is considered one of the finest in northern Italy. Picedo is also well known as the largest hamlet of Polpenazze del Garda. Polpenazze’s October festi-val that celebrates wine is not to be missed.

Vor einer herrlichen Bucht zu Füßen des Berges ‘Monte S. Bartolomeo’ am oberen Gardasee im Gebiet von Brescia, ist Salò die erste Gemeinde der Riviera dei Limoni.
