CATALOGUE 2007
Verehrter Musikliebhaber,
professioneller Seite beste Resonanz erhalten. So
gab es im vergangenen Jahr neben zahlreichen
Auszeichnungen durch Print- und Internetmedi-
en auch den französischen Schallplattenpreis Di-
apason d’Or für unsere CD „The Last Recital“ mit
Dear music lover,
we are delighted and proud to present our fourth
GENUIN catalogue! Since we introduced the la-
bel in 2004, the catalogue has grown from a small
leafl et with just 14 CDs to this 36-page booklet
featuring almost 100 CDs.
As sound engineers committed to classical
music, we courageously took the risk of founding
GENUIN, placing a new label in a market con-
sidered dead. Today, we have a practically global
presence and up to four publications per month,
and our reputation is growing steadily.
We are particularly happy that our CDs are not
only selling well, but that we are reaching more
and more music afi cionados and receiving en-
thusiastic responses from professionals and non-
professionals alike. Last year, we won numer-
ous prizes from print and internet media as well
as the French Diapason d’Or Award for our CD
“The Last Recital” with David Oistrakh and Paul
Badura-Skoda.
We encourage you to browse the catalogue and
discover exciting new recordings, and we wish you
many enjoyable hours of listening.
Your GENUIN Team
Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos’s sanguine temperament en-ters into a symbiosis with the warm, glowing sound of the Dresden Philharmonic which agrees well with Strauss’s sym-phonic colossus. Although the voluptuous sound is enjoyed to the full, Frühbeck ensures that it is precise and transparent. (Fono Forum 12/06)
The fl awlessly playing Philhar-monic need not fear any com-parisons as regards technique. Especially the precision achieved by the winds leaves nothing to be desired. (Rondo)

The composure with which Oistrach allows Schubert’s A-Major Sonata to repose has the effect of one big understatement. Nonetheless, the lyrical qualities of the underestimated piece can nowhere be experienced more beautifully, freshly and naturally than in this newly-issued live recording of the last recital.

PAUL BADURA-SKODA
The violin and piano speak the same language, with the complexity of tempo, entries, dynamics and tonal shading always gauged to perfectly match the slightest detail, no matter how fl eeting. The slow movement in the Beethoven C minor sonata sets a tremend-ous standard in this regard. Several encores and taped portions of a rehearsal (made in Vienna in 1972) round off this excellent recital.

UN!ERHÖRT This line-up of new and fi rst-ever recordings will set the standard for nineteenth and twentieth-century piano and chamber music. The repertory featured promises to be compelling, eccentric, single-mindedly ambitious and refi ned. Not available in this form anywhere else, the series will have many new discov-eries in store—a truly tempting prospect to all lovers of chamber music.
