It all began with metal

With headquarters at Lingen in Germany’s Emsland region, the story of our company’s success began in 1945 when it was

founded by chief engineer Erwin Müller. This is a business that has grown from modest beginnings to become an enterprise

with operations spanning the globe while offering a diverse range of products and employing over 1.200 members of staff.

Metal is the element our company originally started out with. State-of-the-art production facilities and customers wanting

solutions of a more competitive nature now mean we process a wide range of materials. Today, these provide the basis for

manufacturing first-class products that are sold in over 100 countries across the world. Guests at the Peninsula Hotel in

Bangkok, for instance, take pleasure in the exclusive bathroom accessories it uses from the emco Bath division, and the facility

managers at the Sony Center in Berlin keep a cool head on hot days from the perfected air-conditioning concept from emco

Air-Conditioning Engineering. The company responsible for cleaning Berlin’s Reichstag parliament building is amazed at how

clean the entrances stay, given the thousands of feet passing through every day. This is where emco Building Systems keep the

floor clean with its innovative emco Diplomat dirt removal concept. Millions of people around the world know exactly where

to find everything in their offices because with the staplers and perforators from our Novus Office Products subsidiary, they

not only have design classics to embellish their desks but also cleverly designed filing and organisational systems to optimise

the position of screens and telecommunications equipment. On the next few pages, we would like to take on a journey into

Darüber hinaus verlieh der Wirtschaftsverband Emsland 2007 der Erwin Müller Gruppe für ihr soziales und kulturelles

Engagement den „Ersten Emsländischen Unternehmenspreis“.

Im April 2012 verlieh Lingens Oberbürgermeister Dieter Krone dem geschäftsführenden Gesellschafter Harald Müller

das Verdienstkreuz am Bande des Niedersächsischen Verdienstordens im Auftrag des Ministerpräsidenten David

McAllister.

On behalf of the State of Lower Saxony, its Economics Minister, Walter Hirche, awarded the 2005 „CultureContacts

Prize” to entrepreneur Harald Müller, Dipl.-Ing., for the company’s tremendous commitment to the promotion of art

and culture. The Emsland Business Association also presented the Erwin Müller Group with the „First Emsland Business

Award“ prize for its dedication to social welfare and culture.

By order of prime minister David McAllister, the Lord mayor of lingen, Dieter Krone awarded in april 2012 the managing

director Dipl.-Ing. Harald Müller the Cross of Merit of Lower Saxony.
