DESIGN

Nachhaltig, ökologisch und made in Germany sind die Produkte die hinter dem Label gommini stehen. Zudem fordern sie durch eine klare und schöne Formensprache die Phantasie der Kinder und regen zu einem freien Spiel an.

Es sollte etwas besonderes sein. So entwarfen und bauten Jette Loeper Designerin und Jochen Gaukel Architekt zum ersten Geburtstag ihrer Tochter Luise ein Schaukelpferd, das Ross. Die Ideen verfeinerten sich und die Marke gommini entstand.Einen grossen Wert legt das Designer Paar auf Nachhaltig- keit und eine kindgerechte Auswahl der Materialien. So entdeckten sie den Holzwerkstoff Valchromat. Dieseszertifziert nachhaltige und formaldehydfreie Platten- material lässt es nun zu, auch MDF für Kinderspielzeug zu verwenden. Durch die Behandlung mit einem biologischen Holzöl bekommt der Holzwerkstoff Valchromat eine an- genehme und sehr robuste Oberfläche. Hergestellt und entworfen wird in Deutschland.Auch die weiteren Produkte sind im Zusammenspiel und aus dem Bedarf mit den Kindern entstanden. Damit wurden die Objekte gleich auf ihre Spielmöglichkeiten, ihre Sicher- heit und ihre Haltbarkeit geprüft.Der Name gommini stammt aus dem schweizer Kanton Wallis. Dort kommt am Abend, wenn sich die Kinder die Augen reiben, nicht das Sandmännchen, dort sagt man die "Gommini chumunt". Damit meint man die sagenum- wobenen Bewohner des Gomser Hochtales.

It was supposed to be something special, thus designer Jette Loeper and architect Jochen Gaukel designed and built the rocking horse „das Ross“ for their daughter Luise´s first birthday. Their ideas became more tangible and the label “gommini” was born.The designer couple puts great emphasis on child-friendly materials what led them to discover the wood-based material Valchromat. With this certified, durable and solvent-free panel material it is now possible to use MDF for manufacturing children's toys. By treating the wood- based Valchromat with an organic wood oil, the surface becomes smooth and at the same time resistant. Designed and Made in Germany.The cradle (toy furniture) and the board (craft board) were also created with the help of children and was specially designed for their needs. All gommini products have thus been tested for their suitability for play as well as for their safety and durability. “Gommini“ is a word used in the Swiss canton “Wallis”, where children don't get a visit from the sandman at night, but instead it is believed that the Gomminis are coming for a visit. Gommini are legendary inhabitants of the Gomser high valley in Switzerland.

MINIGOMS

Das minigoms ist eine Spiellandschaft, ohne vorgeformte Räume, mit Einzelteilen die anein- andergefügt werden können. Hier gibt es kein "vorgefertigtes" Ergebnis welches nur noch zusammengesteckt werden darf, sondern die Landschaft kann immer wieder neu interpretiert, kombiniert und erweitert werden. Hier wird das räumliche Denken und kombinationsfähigkeit gefordert. Das Minigoms kann zum Beispiel als Puppenhaus sowie als Eisenbahn/Spielauto-landschaft ein- gesetzt werden

Minigoms is our reinvention of a doll house. No restrictions, no predefined rooms. Kids are learn- ing to be open minded and how to create spaces and rooms by only changing parts in their position. There is no pre-built result that only has to be recreated, instead the scenery can repeatedly be new interpreted, combined and extended. Visual thinking and combination skills are trained. There are endless possibilities to play with minigoms. It can also be used as a land- scape for toy cars or trains.

WIEGENTISCH

Der Wiegentisch ist unser "Multifunktionsspiel- zeug". Er kann als Puppenwiege, Tisch, Hocker, Autobus, Tankstelle oder Telefonzelle fungieren. Das Drehen und Wenden ist einfach, da der Wiegentisch leicht und gut zu fassen ist. Das Pattern lehnt sich an klassische Formen an.

Das EinBrett ist eine Bastelunterlage zum Malen, Kneten, Bespielen und was einem sonst noch einfällt. Auf der einen Seite glatt, mit Stiftablage, auf der anderen Seite ein angedeuteter Strassen- zug, auch geeignet um unendliche Strassen aufs Papier zu malen. Ausserdem mit einem Griff, damit das EinBrett überall mit hingenommen werden kann.

Das Ross wurde auf der Tendence in Frankfurt mit dem form 2010 award ausgezeichnet.

Our rocking horse is a playfellow for children between the age of 1 and approximately 6 years. It was designed in 2010 and has already become a design classic that also looks smashing on its own. The rocking horse has nice, big rockers which allow children a great big swing and keeps its rider firmly in the saddle at all times.

Our rocking horse was awarded the renowned FORM 2010 Award at the Tendence Fair in Frankfurt.
