Introduction: Why TRC? What is TRC?
TRC: high strength fabrics embed in fine grained high
performance mortar
• Textile fabrics allow for tailoring of the reinforcement according
to structural design
• Non corrosive reinforcements allow to significantly reduce
concrete cover (only static requirements)

Conclusions
Textile reinforced concrete is a promising material for light and sustainable structures
Several textile fabrics are currently available. Their suitability for different applications needs to be considered carefully
New design methods accounting for the relatively brittle behaviour of the material need still to be developed
The behaviour of the textile reinforcement embedded in mortar is quite different compared to the material behaviour. This shall carefully be accounted for and material characteristics provided by suppliers should be used with caution
