    WHO IS JESUS CHRIST*

Professor Simon Greenleaf was one of the most eminent lawyers of all time. His Laws of Evidence for many yearswere accepted by all States in the United States as the standard methodology for evalating cases. He was teachingLaw at a niversity in the United States when one of his stdents as!ed Professor Greenleaf if he wold apply his Lawsof Evidence to evalate an historical figre. "hen Greenleaf agreed to the pro#ect he as!ed the stdent who was to bethe sb#ect of the review. $he stdent replied that the person to be e%amined wold be &ess 'hrist. Professor

Greenleaf agreed to nderta!e the e%amination of &ess 'hrist and as a reslt( when he had finished the review( SimonGreenleaf personally accepted the Lord &ess 'hrist as his Savior.

Professor Greenleaf then sent an open letter to all #rists in the United States saying in part ) personally haveinvestigated one called &ess 'hrist. ) have fond the evidence concerning him to be historically accrate. ) have alsodiscovered that &ess 'hrist is more than a hman being( he is either God or nothing and having e%amined the evidenceit is impossible to conclde other than he is God. Having conclded that he is God ) have accepted him as my personalSavior. ) rge all members of the legal profession to se the Laws of Evidence to investigate the person of the Lord&ess 'hrist and if yo find that he is wrong e%pose him as a fa!er bt if not consider him as yor Savior and Lord.

    HOW CAN I BE SAVED*

the divine holiness of His character. $his is called grace. )t relies on God so man cannot wor! for salvation neither canhe deserve it. "e need to realise that the creation of this vast nmeasred niverse was far less an nderta!ing than thewor!ing ot of God*s plan to save sinners.

    GRACE

    6. Grace is all that God is free to do for man on the basis of the cross. $herefore Grace is nmerited favor from God.

    2. Grace depends on the character of God therefore Grace depends on who and what God is. Grace is what God can dofor man and still be tre to his own character.

=. Ultimate Sanctification1 "hen the believer receives a resrrection body he loses the sin natre and all hman good.,t this point the believer is physically sperior to all angels. He remains in this perfect state eternally.

    REFLECTION

V$'$' 12-16. +nce again( ) am not going to identify all the modern tribes of ,rabia from this list of names( for manyhave done so before and withot mch real evidence left today that their identifications are correct. $here are some very

clear lin!s to ,rabian tribes and a good @ible dictionary or encyclopaedia needs to be loo!ed p for each name to seethe sggestions. ,gain it is a reminder that the ,rab peoples are closely related to the &ewish people3 they are the samefamily and the enemy fights to send as many as he can to hell from all branches of ,brahams family.

"e mst see the ,rab?)sraeli conflict in terms of Satans hatred for all the sons of ,braham( and we mst wor! to ensrethat the Gospel of trth is given to all the sons of ,braham( for the @ible teaches that many of his sons will enter intoglory praising his name and the ;essiah who has come from his line. Let s focs on getting Gospel trth to all thechildren of ,braham. $he enemy delights in sending many to Hell( and we mst delight in giving them the Gospel of&ess $he )n#eel of )sa( the message of &Sha Ha ;eshiach:.

V$'$' 1-1. )shmael en#oys a blessing by association with ,braham. ot only does he become the father of twelve, rabian tribes( bt he lives long and prosperosly to the great age of 60= years and dies in peace and spirital rest(srronded by his e%tended family. His people live over an e%tensive area as pastoralists. ;oses describes his death inthe same terms as he did that of ,braham( and that ma!e me believe( that he is describing a believer who dies in Godsprovision of Aying Grace. Genesis 69169( 2917. Let s remember that this man( the father of many of the great ,rabpeoples is a believer in the one tre God( and we have the mission to spea! to his sons( #st as to the sons of )saac.

V$'$' 1-2). otice that Laban is called the Syrian as he was of the land called Syria by this time. He has becomeassociated with his neighbors in Padanaram. ow this term means the Plain of ,ram and refers to the vast plain thatsrronds the city of Haran( so it is the name for the land area and became a name for the city over time as aneivalent to Haran.

V$'$' 21-22. /ebe!ah is nable to have children and this will form the first of the tests of )saacs life of faith. )saacgoes straight to the Lord over the matter and the Lord answers his prayer and /ebe!ah conceives and it is discoveredthat she has twins within her.

$his also was a case for prayer3 both of re#oicing and also concern for the mother. )n this day death was common afterchild birth and the birth of twins was more problematic than a single birth. @ecase this was special there was greatprayer made as to what this birth might mean( and especially by /ebe!ah herself( who almost felt them fighting within

    6. $he ,rabs ations will be in conflict with )srael ntil the Second ,dvent.

    2. $he O/oot of the 'onflictO is given in Genesis 62: where we have the beginning of )srael( throgh ,braham( )saac and

&acob v 6?0: and also the beginning of the ,rabs( throgh )shmael and Esa v 7?2>:.

    0. Aring a famine( ,braham chose to go to Egypt rather than remain in the Promised Land. $his was a lac! of faith onhis part. $he Pharaoh ta!es Sarai into his harem and pays the bride price to ,braham who pretends to be her brother.)nclded in the bride price is an Egyptian maidservant called Hagar( who will become the mother of )shmael.

    8. @ecase Sarai is barren( she sggests to ,braham that he have children by Hagar Genesis 64:. $his was inaccordance with the laws of that day where( if a wife was nable to prodce children( it was her responsibility to providea servant so that the line wold contine. ,gain we have a lapse of faith.

    9. )n those days barren women were despised( and Hagar openly gloats to Sarai over the birth of )shmael. Sarai reactsand cases Hagar to flee in a pregnant state from ,braham. )n her flight she has an enconter with the ,ngel of the Lord(who gives a series of prophecies as to the ftre of her son.

    4. $he prophecies regarding )shmael

a: OHe will be as a wild ass of a manO. $his is not as derogatory a statement as it wold be today as in the ancient worldmany herds of wild asses roamed. $he prophecy therefore means that the descendants of )shmael wold be nomadic.

b: OHis hand shall be against every manO. $he characteristic of )shmael is that of aggression and he will attac! those withwhom he comes in contact.

c: OEvery man*s hand shall be against himO. His aggression will bring retaliation pon himself.

d: OHe shall dwell over against his brotherO. $his is a Hebrew idiom indicating that the ,rabs will dwell in a state ofhostility side by side with his brother.

=. )n the meantime( God opens Sarah*s womb( and )saac is born. )n Genesis 26: we have the weaning party of )saac(which wold have occrred between the ages of three and five( at which we find )shmael moc!ing his half brother( )saac.

,s a reslt of this moc!ing Hagar and )shmael are e%pelled from ,braham*s presence on God*s orders and theirwanderings begin. )shmael eventally marries an Egyptian.

    7. $he other father of the ,rabs is )saac*s son( Esa( twin brother of &acob Genesis 29:. Esa was born first andtherefore had the birthright which gave him the !ingship( priesthood and the doble portion.

. $he patriarchal blessing is for the person holding the birthright ths &acob is entitled to the blessing. $he sin is in thedeception by &acob and his mother. )n Genesis 2=186: it states that Esa hated &acob becase of the patriarchalblessing( and plots his mrder. $his again shows the antagonism between the ,rabs and the &ews.

    66. @y mbers 2>: Esa*s descendants have become the great nation of Edom and those of &acob have been slaves

of Egypt for several generations. $he &ews are miraclosly released to travel towards their inheritance in 'anaan. $heeasiest rote is throgh the land of Edom. ;oses petitions the Edomites for passage throgh their land by means of theJing*s highway bt is refsed with violence.

    62. )n the boo! of &dges we read of the )shmaelites inflicting damages against )srael and sb#gating them.

    60. )n Psalm 70: the writer views prophetically the nion of nations which comprise the modern ,rab states( conspiringtogether to eliminate )srael.

    $he nations are as follows1?

v4: Edom ? Sothern &ordan( )shmael is the father of one segment of the modern world( ;oab is in 'entral &ordan( theHagarines were from Egypt.

He has not made his life a spirit centred life( and so he depends pon his fathers blessing to ma!e him something(rather than recogni5e what he has or will become in Gods grace.

&acob will spiritally grow into this blessing and his children down the ages will profit from it by following the faith of theirfather. Esa is a man who loves self centred pleasres( and is not capable of thin!ing in a spirital manner( becase herefses to go down that path at all.
