One of the characteristic features of the region’s industry is its high level of inter-sectoral cooperation with enterprises in other regions. The main areas are: mechanical engineering, instrumentation and electronics, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy.

The success of the regional industry is provided primarily by the success of the flagships of the Oryol region, which are constantly modernizing and increasing their production volumes. These are such enterprises as “Kerama Marazzi”, “Frigoglass Eurasia”, “Sanofy-Aventis Vostok”, “HMS Pumps” and “Livnynasos”, “Mtsensk plant of municipal engineering”, branch office “Oryol” of JSC “Severstal-metiz”, “Mezhgosmetiz-Mtsenk”, “Gamma”, JSC “Proton” and several others.

The regional agriculture is a diversified complex, which integrates production, processing and marketing of agricultural products.

The Oryol region has favorable agro-climatic condictions for the agricultural production. Agricultural lands and territories of rural settlements are located on almost 90% of the area.

Among the most important and actively engaged in production activity of the Oryol region structures there are such enterprises public join-stock companies “Group “Cherkizovo” and “Group “Razguliay”, LLC “Znamensky selection hybrid center”, LCC “Exim-Agro”, LCC “Agro-industrial Holding “Miratorg” and others.
