Im Innenraumbereich werden Holzprodukte und Holzwerkstoffe bevorzugt eingesetzt. Kaum ein anderes Material vermittelt ein vergleichbar natürliches Wohngefühl und trägt auf unterschiedlichste Weise zur Wohngesundheit bei.

So dient Holz beispielsweise als Feuchtigkeitsregulator der Luft und ist besonders für Allergiker geeignet, da der Werkstoff sich nicht elektrostatisch auflädt und somit auch keinen Staub anzieht.

Aufgrund der Vielzahl von positiven Eigenschaften sind Holz und Holzprodukte von großer Bedeutung. Umso wichtiger sind daher der Schutz und Erhalt der natürlichen Umweltressourcen.

Diese Verantwortung gegenüber unserer Umwelt und den nachfolgenden Generationen und der damit verbundene, schonende und nachhaltige Umgang mit deren Ressourcen ist in den Leitsätzen unseres Unternehmens fest verankert. In unserem Fokus stehen nicht nur Produktvielfalt- und Qualität, sondern besonders der Einsatz umweltschonender Rohstoffe und Materialien.

Wir möchten Ihnen mit dieser Unterlage einige Projekte und Zer-tifizierungen vorstellen, die wir bei LEBO bereits estanden oder derzeit in Angriff genommen haben.

Wood products and wood materials are used by preference for interiors. There is virtually no other material that provides a comparably natural living atmosphere and contributes in various ways to a healthy style of living.

For example, wood is used as an air moisture regulator, and it is especially suited for people with allergies because the material does not charge electrostatically and thus does not attract dust.

Due to their large number of positive features, wood and wood products are of great significance. This makes it all the more important to protect and preserve our natural environmental resources.

This responsibility towards our environment and the future generations, and the efficient and sustainable use of natural resources associated with this, is firmly anchored in our company’s guiding principles. Our focus is not only on product diversity and quality, but particularly on the use of environmentally friendly raw materials and materials.

With this document we would like to introduce you to a number of projects and certifications that we have already successfully implemented at LEBO or are currently undertaking.

Wofür steht das PEFC-Siegel?

Das Siegel von PEFC gehört mit dem des FSC weltweit zu den wichtigsten Prüfzeichen für nachhaltige Waldbewirtschaf-tung sowie herkunftskontrollierte Holz- und Papierprodukte. PEFC ist ein transparentes und unabhängiges System zur Si-cherstellung einer nachhaltigen Waldbewirtschaftung und damit eine weltweiter „Wald-TÜV“.

PEFC ist die Abkürzung für die englische Bezeichnung „Pro-gramme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes“, also ein „Programm für die Anerkennung von Forstzertifizie-rungssystemen“.

What does the PEFC quality mark stand for?

Besides the FSC quality mark, the PEFC quality mark is one of the world’s most important certificates for sustainable forest management and origin-controlled wood and paper prod-ucts. PEFC is a transparent and independent system for ensur-ing sustainable forest management, thus a worldwide “Forestry TÜV”.

PEFC is the abbreviation for “Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes”.

Was ist die RAL Gütegemeinschaft?

In den 70er Jahren haben sich führende Türenhersteller un-ter der Aufsicht des Deutschen Instituts für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung (RAL) in der Gütegemeinschaft Innentüren zu-sammengeschlossen und gemeinsam mit dem renommierten Institut für Fenstertechnik in Rosenheim (i.f.t.) eine umfassende Gütesicherung aufgebaut.

Ziele der RAL Gütegemeinschaft?

Ziel der Gütegemeinschaft ist es, allen Nutzern von Türblättern und Türzargen – ob Architekt, Handwerk, Fachhandel oder End-verbraucher – fehlerfreie Produkte mit einwandfreier Qualität und Funktion für die unterschiedlichsten Einsatzbereiche zu liefern.

Was garantiert das RAL Gütezeichen?

Es handelt sich um ein anspruchsvolles Label, das wesentlich zu Verbesserungen der Qualität von Türblättern und Türzargen beiträgt. Darüber hinaus werden Nachhaltigkeitsaspekte in die Vergabekriterien einbezogen, beispielsweise was die Holzpro-duktion betrifft. Aus diesem Grund kann das Label als Nachhal-tigkeitslabel bezeichnet werden.

What is the RAL Quality Assurance Association?

In the 1970s, leading door manufacturers joined forces under the auspices of the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Certification (RAL) to create the interior doors quality community; in collaboration with the renowned Institute for Window Technol-ogy in Rosenheim (ift), they established a comprehensive quality assurance programme.

Objectives of the RAL Quality Assurance Association

The aim of the Quality Association is to provide all users of door panels and door frames – whether they be architects, craftsmen, retailers or end users – with defect-free products with impecca-ble quality and functionality for a wide range of applications.

What does the RAL quality mark guarantee?

This is a premium label which contributes significantly to im-provements in the quality of door panels and door frames. In addition, sustainability issues are included in the award criteria, for instance, in terms of wood production. For this reason, the label can be viewed as a sustainability mark

Was ist der VHI?

As an industry association, the VHI represents the profession-al, economic and technical interests of producers of chipboard, fibreboard and oriented strand board, wood-polymer materials, plywood and interior doors at a national and international level.

Wofür steht das IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V.)

Das Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) ist eine Initiative von Bauprodukteherstellern, die sich entschieden haben, der Forde-rung nach mehr Nachhaltigkeit im Bauwesen gemeinsam zu be-gegnen. Als assoziiertes Mitglied des IBU fördert die Firma Lebo den Nachhaltigkeitsgedanken beim Einsatz von Bauprodukten.

Was garantiert die Auszeichnung mit einer EPD des IBU?

Die Auszeichnung mit einer EPD (Environmental Product Decla-ration / Umwelt-Produktdeklaration) des IBU beinhaltet eine un-abhängige Überprüfung durch Dritte und zeigt die Umwelteinwir-kungen eines Produktes sowie das Verantwortungsbewusstsein des Unternehmens in Hinblick auf das Nachhaltige Bauen. Um-welt-Produktdeklarationen basieren auf internationalen Normen (ISO 14025; ISO 14040ff) - sowie der Europäischen DIN EN 15804 und sind deshalb international abgestimmt.

Im Rahmen des VHI (Verband der Deutschen Holzwerkstoffin-dustrie e. V.), in dem auch LEBO Mitglied ist, wurde deklariert: Eine Innentür, bestehend aus Türblatt und Zarge, mit der Größe 1,23 m x 2,18 m.

What does the IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt eV) stand for?

The Institut Bauen und Umwelt eV (Institute for Building and the Environment (IBU)) is an initiative of building products manufac-turers who have mutually decided to meet the demand for more sustainability in construction. As an associate member of the IBU, Lebo promotes the concept of sustainability in the use of building products.

What does an EPD award by IBU guarantee?

An EPD award (Environmental Product Declaration) by IBU in-cludes an independent third party audit and shows the environ-mental impacts of a product as well as the company’s responsi-bility in terms of sustainable construction. Environmental product declarations based on international standards (ISO 14025, ISO 14040) – as well as the European DIN EN 15804 and are there-fore coordinated internationally.

Ziele der Initiative HolzProKlima

Über die Initiative HolzProKlima soll Politik und Öffentlichkeit über den positiven Beitrag von Holzprodukten für den Klima-schutz aufgeklärt werden. Holzprodukte wie Innentüren substitu-ieren andere, in der Herstellung energieintensiver Materialen wie Beton oder Stahl und speichern über Ihre gesamte Lebensdauer CO2.

Objectives of the HolzProKlima initiative

The aim of the HolzProKlima initiative is to inform politicians and the public about the positive contribution of wood products to cli-mate protection. Wood products such as interior doors compen-sate for other materials whose production is energy-intensive, such as concrete or steel, and bind CO2 throughout their entire life cycle.

Wofür steht diese Initiative?

Kurz gesagt: Holz verantwortungsvoll nutzen!

Holz ist der wichtigste Rohstoff, über den Deutschland als ins-gesamt rohstoffarmes Land verfügt. Die rasant ansteigende Verwendung von Holz im Energiebereich führt derzeit jedoch zu einer drastischen Verknappung. Das hat auch die Bundesregie-rung erkannt.

Zur Sicherung von mehreren 100.000 Arbeitsplätzen in der hei-mischen Holzindustrie ist jetzt ein intelligentes Ressourcenma-nagement erforderlich.

Die Initiative „Holz verantwortungsvoll nutzen“ setzt sich dabei für den Ressourcen- und Klimaschutz ein. Sie fordert fordert im Sinne der Verantwortung einer nachhaltigen Nutzung von Wald und Holz, vor der energetischen Entwertung die stoffliche Ver-wertung von Holz zu fördern und damit in der Holzwirtschaft vom Tischler über die Holzwerkstoffindustrie bis zum Altholzrecycling Tausende von Arbeitsplätzen zu sichern.

What does this initiative stand for?

Briefly: Responsible use of wood!

Wood is the most important raw material that Germany, a country that is low on natural resources on the whole, has. The rapidly increasing use of wood in the energy sector, however, is leading to a drastic shortage. This federal government has also recog-nised this.

To secure several 100,000 jobs in the domestic timber industry, intelligent resource management is now required.

The “Responsible use of wood” initiative is committed to preserv-ing resources and climate protection. In the sense of responsi-bility for sustainable use of forest and wood, it seeks to promote the recycling of wood as a material before its energetic devalua-tion, and thus to secure thousands of jobs in the timber industry from the carpenter, through the wood materials industry, to waste wood recycling.

Emissionen von Innentüren auf die Raumluft?

Produkte aus Holz und Holzwerkstoffen beeinflussen das Raum-klima in angenehmer Weise und sind bei sachgerechter An-wendung ein unbedenklicher Bau- und Werkstoff. Um über die hygienischen Merkmale von Innentüren aus Holz und Holzwerk-stoffen nach prEN 14351-2 umfassende Erkenntnisse auf die Innenraumluft zu erhalten, wurden in einem umfangreichen For-schungsprojekt die raumluftrelevanten Emissionen untersucht. Die Arbeiten erfolgten am Fraunhofer Institut für Holzforschung, Braunschweig sowie am ift Rosenheim.

Das Ergebnis der Prüfung

Umfangreiche Untersuchungen an Türblättern und Türzargen führender deutscher Hersteller - so auch von LEBO - im Ver-band der Deutschen Holzwerkstoffindustrie (VHI) haben erge-ben, dass Emissionen von flüchtigen organischen Verbindungen (VOC) und von Formaldehyd in die Innenraumluft sehr gering sind. Die nationalen Kriterien zur Bewertung der VOC-Emissi-onen wurden erfüllt, deren entsprechende Grenzwerte wurden sehr deutlich unterschritten.

Emissions from interior doors and interior atmosphere

Products made of wood and wood-based materials affect the in-door climate in a pleasant manner and are completely safe build-ing materials, if used properly. To gain comprehensive knowl-edge of the indoor atmosphere via the hygienic characteristics of interior doors in wood and wood-based materials as per prEN 14351-2, the indoor atmosphere relevant emissions were exam-ined in a comprehensive research project. The work was car-ried out at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Braun-schweig, as well as at the ift Rosenheim.

Test results

Extensive investigations of door panels and door frames by lead-ing German manufacturers – that is, also by LEBO – in the As-sociation of the German Wood Products Industry (VHI) revealed that emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and formal-dehyde in the indoor atmosphere are very low. The national cri-teria for the evaluation of VOC emissions were met; the results were clearly below the applicable limits.

Wofür steht Lean & Green?

„Kosten senken - Umwelt schonen - Mitarbeiter sensibilisieren“, unter diesem Fokus hat die Beratungsfirma Lean and Green @ Growtth Consulting die Lebo GmbH eine Woche lang kritisch be-trachtet. Das Ergebnis dieser Zusammenarbeit war eine Darstel-lung von diversen Optimierungsansätzen um Kosten zu senken, Energie zu sparen und die Umwelt durch einen geringeren CO2 Ausstoß langfristig zu schonen.

Ziele

Die Ansätze beinhalten beispielsweise die Verminderung der Grundlast, einen optimierteren Einsatz von Licht und Druckluft, Änderungen in der Entsorgung und gesetzliche Tipps. Bei einer Umsetzung der genannten Aspekte wird die Lebo GmbH den CO2 Ausstoß jährlich um ca. 134 Tonnen reduzieren können, dies entsprich t in etwa 6.100 neu gepflanzten Bäumen!

LEBO ist somit Träger des Siegels: "Lean and Green tested com-pany", einem Testsiegel der Lean and Green Umweltinitiative für Großunternehmen.

What does Lean & Green stand for?

“Reducing costs – Protecting the environment – Increasing em-ployee awareness”; this is the focus that Lean and Green @ Growth Consulting critically appraised at Lebo GmbH for a whole week. The result of this collaboration was the visualisation of var-ious optimisation approaches for reducing costs, saving energy, and protect the environment in the long term through lower CO2 emissions.

Goals

The approaches include, for example, reducing the basic load, optimising the of light and compressed air, changes in waste dis-posal, and legal tips. After implementing the items stated here, Lebo GmbH will be able to reduce its CO2 emissions annually by about 134 tonnes; this is roughly equivalent to planting 6,100 new trees!

LEBO was thus award the quality mark: “Lean and Green tested company”, a test quality mark by the Lean and Green environ-mental initiative for large organisations.
